Just started to build up my collection after having to sell up before due to unforseen issues

Now I'm going to have to sell up again... my car decided to kill itself tonight... it was just a cheap run about to get me from a to b... and now its dead

I have the use of my parents cars for the next few weeks... after that I'm gonna need to replace it

So gonna have to sell everything i can ... Dvd's (300 odd)... unused laptop and whatever I can get from the car...

Then if I can't raise enough I'm going to have to start selling my loose figures.. last to go are gonna be overlord fortmax and my MIB / MISB lot though... want to keep them!

Gutted... but if I have to sell them all - I'll be starting a new collection asap .. think I'll do the MIB thing though ... :)

That sucks and hope you get rolling soon.

The good thing about (most ) toys and dvd's is you can always just buy them again later on.
I sold all my Machine Robo,s and most of my Macross stuff for bills etc..
It sucks , but they're all still out there for repurchasing.
Just bites when some of them end up being rare and you have no idea about it at the time.

Just don't tap into your G1 stuff or we'll have to kill you

Been out to have a look at the car... might not be as bad as I first though ... IE Fixable... the big pool under it seems to be brake fluid - not oil as I first thought... and its now starting ok - just won't go into gear.. think its the clutch slave cylinder... which isn't much to replace..

Will have to check first light tomorrow and get the tools out... the engine is so compact I'll have to remove a lot to check it

Problem is all my stuff is more or less G1... SOB!

It could be transmission fluid/lubricant, since you can't shift gears.

Even if it was engine oil, you might have had a blown/damaged engine block gasket. If that's the case, you will probably have to take the existing engine head (the thing that covers the pistons and cylinders, has the valves on some cars) and have the mechanic grind the surface that goes on the engine flat and smooth. Or buy a new engine block head. I had that happen to my car, and the cost wasn't big at all. Still it's time consuming.

If it's oil it could be you fractured the carter, I don't know how you people call it in USA. It's the engine oil tank, sits at the bottom of the engine. It's the first thing to go when your front drops from a certain height on flat surface or you hit some pretty high protrusion in a bumpy dirt road, like a rock or something. For example, your car was parked on the sidewalk and when going home or whereever, you don't go slow but fast, you have bad suspension, you can crack the carter on the curb.

Definatley the clutch slave cylinder, which is about £30 to replace...can do it myself :)

head is ok - no mixing of water an oil and the engine still runs - just the clutch pedal is on the floor and won't come up - like the cable had snapped, but its not got a cable hence the above diagnosis...just when it came to such a violent stop (no clutch and stopping ... major stall) I thought something had gone bang... and the leaking fluid I thought - hole in the block threw a conrod routine....

Gonna get it fixed up and sold on as soon as I save some cash to replace it - looks like the collecting will be on hold for a few months :(

Having just one part to replace is pretty good news, tho, versus having to save up for an entirely new (to you) car. Even if you have to sell, it won't be as bad.

I'm in the same boat. My car is a piece of crap, not quite dead yet but almost there. I can't drive it, I think it might be the oil pump but the mechanics are just guessing & don't have a clue what's wrong with it. Try this for $250.00, now try this for $400.00, okay, now try this for $900.00. That didn't work? Well you need a new engine.

I'll find a way to get a new car but selling my Transformers is NOT AN OPTION! NOT EVER!!!! I'll ride a bike before I part with my Transformers.

I'm in the angus area mate

and yeah - hopefully its just one part to fix

The car to be honest is a bit of a scrapper... needs little bits all over bodywise - but mechanically it was sound enough - only intended to keep it a few months... but was around the time I started buying toys again lol

I'll give it a few months of not buying if I see something totally "I want" and then hopefully get something else and start collecting again - need to save up for omega supreme encore anyway..

Annoying thing is I just ordered 3 MP starscream, megs, skywarp and a whole load of encore as well... too late to cancel as they are shipped.. ah well hopefully curb my need for a little while..

    ha ha

if it had one I'd go back in time.... put some money into shares etc etc into say microsoft, sony etc etc... from there go to the eightys ... buy a warehouse... fill it full of tf's in the best possible storage conditions... then jump forward... stop myself buying the piece of shit and then probably create one hell of a time paradox....

    but since it doesn't...

Tools are at the ready... car has been pushed into the driveway and I'm gonna take the engine bay to bits (the part is under the battery tray) then get a new one ordered.. I doubt they will be in stock..

Then I'm going to fix it... clean it up and put it on ebay... if I get book price I'll be more than happy then save up some additional cash I'll manage to get enough to get something a bit newer and reliable...and then start on the collecting again :p  just as well my folks are away on holiday for three weeks.. got the use of their cars till the come back!
