Can't recall if it was this brand but my local supermarket has these cheap hot wheels alikes.

Second one up looks like it may fit Dianauts at a push, with some work. It's not open topped though so probably not worth the effort.

Yeah the 2nd one up looks *fun* even if it does require some dremel work. Off road tires are a bonus.

That's not the other off brand die cast car line mentioned previously but anything approaching it is just as good IMO. Thanks for the pictures.

Seeing these makes me wonder .... what the ideal standard 1/60 figure race car would look like. Futuristic ? Nascar Racers from 2001? Similar to one of the vehicles from the vintage sci fi racing video game F-Zero?

F-Zero had toys? Oh wait, they did didn't they? I'd thought that series had lots of potential for a toyline. If i recall, F-Zero had some japan exclusive merch & toys. That series seems rather neglected toyline wise compared to it's sister series, Metroid.

Definitely. At the very least a vehicle centric die cast line. You can never go wrong with a racing "car" series. Adding 1/60 figure compatibility raises the appeal to another level.

Imagine adding modern 1/60 figures to a product like this with opening windscreens / hatches. No extreme violence.

    Just racing.

A million pop culture geeks and toy fans would have these on their desks.

The wildest thing is that not only it has large cast of intergalactic pilots. Not just Humans, but Also Robots, Aliens & even a Bio-engineered Dinosaur. Each with Tech-Spec worthy bios of each racer. But also the many modular parts you could form a plethora of custom machines you could put your pilots with. Heck, the Falcon Flyer just screams Flagship toy with being a playset that store all those vehicles or as a place to put your pilots. We don't know what could be inside the thing, but i could see it have stuff like a prison area where Captain Falcon could put his Bounties, Perhaps a podium set with Mr. Zero that could do interviews with the pilots. There's even Head-to-head race multi-packs you could even consider like Captain Falcon Vs Samurai Goroh, Beastman Vs Bio-Rex, Jody Summer Vs. Octoman, All with their respective machines.

Definitely do not remember those.
Did they do the smart thing and put magnets on them?

It's interesting that we both thought about magnets when looking at these lol.
I immediately thought of this old "toy" that i used to own (very similar to what's shown below):
    top.png

To my knowledge though, no, the F-Zero vehicles didn't include magnets or magnetic features. *Missed opportunity*

    100% agree.

I'm a firm supporter of some core concepts and themes when applied to toy lines. Sci fi themed mini action figures with single seat vehicles (ex. Lightyear or Micro Galaxy Squadron ships), "Army men" (whether little plastic soldiers or GI Joe), "Wrestling" figures with championship belts and.... race cars (vehicle racing in general).

F-Zero had a video game, an anime series and 2 of the 4 "themes" wrapped in one package.

    F-Zero should be a franchise.

"Sci Fi Hot Wheels" occasionally racing in space with character race "car" drivers? WHERE ARE THE TOYS lol?

I love mecha that can seat micro operators / pilots thus my Diaclone appreciation. However i'd be just as likely, if not more, to buy micro race cars with Dianaut style drivers. Likely more.

Item received… am liking the 1:60 compatibility. Especially the top bot (Mole?)’s cockpit where the fit for a dianaut is perfect like @Vancelle mentioned… I’m normally a skeptic but in this case i believe that it was a conscious design choice…(should be lake88 instead)

Loving the size and the various modes as well… it is proving to be a really fun bot. Only gripe I have is the feet where the hollow molded plastic seems a bit cheaper looking but totally understandable given the stylistic choice.

Quick pics with the others from the maintenance team:

I didn't get the chance to get it out of the package, or snap any meaningful pictures... but some of the new Micro Galaxy stuff is starting to show up (in the US) and the U-Wing looks to be *chef's kiss*. We'll see how useable the interior actually is later. But the U-Wing is easily my favorite 'new' Star Wars creation. While it does have design cues making it notably Star Wars, it also still feels 'generic enough' that it'd fill out a background shot w/o screaming "what's your Star Wars doing in my [insert 1/60 universe]".

Got this after the recommendations on this thread to try 52Toys BeastBox. This one could work well with most 1/60 stuff, the height is pretty good for Dia-Nauts. (I may use it for other scales, too.) It is disassembled to change forms, and uses 3mm and 5mm connections, so could also be connected to other toylines.

As a first time customer incentive, 52Toys had a big discount on this BeastBox dino on Ali. I actually wasn't planning to use this with 1:60, but I do like how it scales with Dia-Nauts and similar sized toys. The side panels for folding out plate ridges aren't perfect seats, but you could stand up to 3 on either side, and it has a sort of Dino-Riders feel, but mechanical. I probably will use this interchangeably with various other toys.

Series 4 has been showing up here in time for Star wars day and I've had a sudden and pretty vast increase in my collection.
Got the U-Wing and the Imperial shuttle, both have fantastic interiors but squeezing Dianauts into them can be difficult.
It's sometimes hard enough to get the actual MGS figures in there.

And that mold is a beauty in this color. Setting aside the obvious callback to G1 Devastator from the Transformers franchise i can't take my eyes off of the "optical sensor" which , at an angle, looks insectoid. Praying Mantis eyes... i think that's what i'm seeing. When you combine that with the claw and the barreled torch/laser arm you've got a really solid toy. I mean... you have 2 toys that combine into one and the end result familiar enough not to be off putting.

The yellow version immediately made me think of DA-08 Power suits and working with them as a part of a construction or maintenance crew but this one in green.... it seems like it was built for and destined for trouble.

Now imagine if a Waruder inspired figure in complimentary colors was included as the operator. A pilot just different enough to be unique but similar enough for one to clearly know what its alignment is.

Or... a human operated Cybertronian design that is aligned with the Decepticons.

I haven't picked this one up yet but i've had a sudden (unexpected) burst of 1/60 enthusiasm recently .....
