Considering one (in the US) could pick up the entire hyperspeed line and a few other Lightyear items that scale well for less than $75 including shipping right now ...definitely .

Yeah, I just realised that they nested all of the Buzz ship variants under the one listing.
We'll see how my first attempt at repainting goes as I haven't customised something in years. Then we'll see about adding to the fleet.

I also got 2 of them last year! The other 1 I turned into an enclosed cab by keeping the plastic bubble packaging

The Star Command Emergency Vehicle is also a good vehicle, with room for 6 Lightyear figures in the cab.

Sadly the price has gone up for the truck, I remember paying around $11 for mine.

Nah - the truck is less than $7 right now. I went ahead and picked up one of those, too.

Currently, I'm trying to repaint one of those buggies. It's super-convenient to just be able to unscrew three screws and basically disassemble the whole thing. I did have to put tape over the steering wheel and turret, though.
That's the one bad thing about the Hyperspeed line - they use a lot of connections that are one-time assembly.
It's going to be a pain to try to repaint the Zurg Mothership because I already plugged all of the fins into the ship, and they are there for.ev.er.

    Fantastic :D

Someone really needs to convert the off roader into an RC vehicle.

I'd have already done it if i had one.

Lightyear stuff is so "round" and "soft" it just doesn't look like it fits with Diaclone to me... As an artist, I'm big on aesthetic. I appreciate the compatable scale and am tempted on that really dirt cheap price point. But to me, mixing it with my Diaclone sticks out too much for my tastes. Tempting though. :)

I'd really like to see the Star Command Transport vehicle with a windshield similar to your Rebel PUG at the very least. I feel like that's the only thing missing from the Lightyear version of the HALO Warthog.

A 3D printed front cover of some type would be a welcome windshield alternative as well.

    Speaking of Lightyear vehicles....

Got a 3D printed 1:60 scaled skylift. Had to wait a month for it to be printed and painted. Overall nicely scale with my Diaclone products. But it is really fragile… my son dropped it almost immediately out-of-box and a large chunk broke off. But it is meant to be a heavy industry vehicle so some damage/dents wouldn’t be uncommon.

but I won’t be getting their $200 printed plane after this. I doubt I would take it as well if that shattered

Are those actual nuts and bolts? It looks like they'll unscrew themselves loose if you turn the arm too often due to the way it is constructed.

I suppose this particular 3D Print workshop is still more of a Gunpla accessory maker so their things are less for play unlike the custom Diaclone accessories we're used to, just a coincidence that Gunpla has a 1:60 scale. Still, some of their smaller, static display pieces look interesting enough.

They are and that’s the main reason the vehicle was dropped. My son was asking me about the floppy arms after he played with them when it came loose from the vehicle and it shattered on contact with the floor.

basically these are meant for static display and not for regular play.

FYI for folks interested in 3D printed product in general:
    * (toy grade) abrasion resistant resins exist. They're more expensive than run of the mill resins and are specifically designed to mimic injection molded plastic.

    * impact resistant resins exist. They're more common than the aforementioned material. The top-tier versions are pricey.

    * combining the 2 gives you an impressive toy grade material. The primary short coming is limited color options (without customization): black, white, clear, grey and...a blue variant.

    * painting the cheaper resins that , frankly, most designers of static parts are printing with will give them a longer shelf life (for parts designed to be moved/played with). Paint = delayed UV absorption.

I design and print a lot of items. Cheap resin has its place but movable toys "ain't it" without some design and formula tweaks. I use toy grade resins on my designs because , well I actually play with my toys :D

Sounds like what Feite used for their 3d printed stuff. I have the Buffalo shoulder extensions and they can take quite the abuse!

Or am I completely wrong here and Feite actually does injection?:dunce

That particular shade of grey is familiar in the upper left corner. The lighting throws the color off in the other images.

I think most of Li Feite's is 3D printed, though much finer layers, so the lines are less apparent. The bits that are thin like on the medical equipment and railings, computer screens, etc. are very brittle and can snap easily when stored and shipped.

It is strong and does well in larger shapes... It is just that there is almost no give at all in thin connection points, so they can and will snap under even small amounts of pressure. I have several I need to try to repair now...

The 1/60 Gundam Micro Wars red pilot seems as though it was made for this unit.
