hey guys, what's goin on!! So, because of the fact that I am sitting at home doing a whole lot of nothing lately, I asked a friend of mine if I could build one of the models he had sitting in his garage that no one could get to. Anyway, he said sure and I picked out this mustang and he looked at me and just looked at the model, and goes "you know what? This would look awesome in a hot rod type paint job. I'll let you build it, but it's comin back to me, and I want it painted up like hot rod!" So I obliged and said OK. Anyway, I got some pics of the body all painted up in some poly urathanes I got from dear ol' MATTICUS PRIME, mixed up some red and black, and after a few coats, and a medium wet coat, some buffing with Wright's silver polish, then plastX this is what I've go so far. I am thinking that I want to paint the trim running across the center of the body in a yellow color to give it more of a hot rod vibe.. Or seeing how it's a '71 and flames were kind of "in" then, I might actually try my hand at some flame patters... Maybe.. I'm not 100% on that yet. Savio Prime's BB is standing over and next to to show how nice the paint buffs out WITHOUT a gloss coat yet. I'm still not 100% happy with the smoothness of the paint just yet, so I may scuff it down and give him one more coat before clearing him up. Let me know what you guys think, and no, this won't TF. This is strictly car mode display only. Also, the flash from the camera makes the paint look a bit more tomato-y, but it's actually more of a nice maroon color than what is shown. I guess it might be time to build me a light box
