No man I disagree. They’re just overly compromised in both the robot and Dino modes for the sake of the combined mode. Transformers prime was able to make an abominus at an even smaller scale that had far better individual modes and still had a pretty cool looking combined mode
Devcon has a bit of a history of being remade from Scourge molds, most notably the 2014 Botcon repaint of Generations Scourge. Iron Factory followed suit, as did Mech Fans Toys, and as a result, a lot of people see Devcon as the likely repaint from Scourge. Similar booster placement, similar tiny gun things on the helmet, and similar boat-like spaceship alt modes. It worked better for the previous Scourge molds, which didn't seek to be as screen accurate and provided some better leeway as far as color placement and transformation scheme, but with the SS86 Scourge mold, it just wouldn't have worked as well. I think even Blurr would be a better fit, being closer in shape and Transformation scheme to Devcon, but if they really want to be accurate, he'd need his own mold that could be retooled into other characters, like Nautica and Thunderblast, as others have mentioned (though I think Thunderblast would work better as a retool of Scourge). I know its been said, but im disappointed that twincast doesn\'t have a double deck. Anybody planing on 3d printing a bigger chest? Doesnt even need to be clear, just toyhax label the window on it.
I just hope Metalhawk has good landing gear so we can eventually get a release with a shiny golden chest (or repaint it myself) without having the chest scratch on the ground
By the way, wouldn't it be cool if they repaint Iguanus into Slizardo and create a way for him to connect to the upcoming Devcon?
Well... happy to finally see Shrapnel. Now all that's left that I'm looking forward to are Bombshell, Snarl & Swoop. Though I sure wouldn't argue with new Earth mode Soundwave or even a (properly colored) re-release of the Netflix one.
