There is a wide divide between cartoon and comics readers, though. Much like how there's a big gap between casual BW fans who are only now getting back in to it and those who know what BWII and Neo are. I'm not kidding when I say most people who see Leo Prime in stores are gonna assume it's Optimus Prime but a lion now.
I should have specified "comics" and "leader class" as well. RUN IT'S DREADWING never did anything in the comics, hell, he wasn't even Dreadwing in the G2 comics!
Eh, Rest-Q shouldn't be another CJ repaint, and Pathfinder is definitely time locked. The only one who should be released already is Treads.
Has that been confirmed? He was the one who came up with the whole "rescan an alt-mode in the field" idea, too bad it led to his death. We never saw what his beast mode was so if he IS in this set; it'd be nice to finally have a toy of the guy.
Holiday Prime isn't getting remolded into Hero Prime, Bmac said that the Volvo VNR mold (as in no retooling) is going to be done in a classic deco (most likely interpretation is G1 colors).
Its sad that Hasbro's reveal of this stuff doesn't get me as excited as it use to thanks to all the leaks we know all this stuff is coming out. Thankfully I can be excited to finally preorder these, and I technically already have Metalhawk & Twincast on preorder with BBTS thanks to that flub a few nights ago. Happy to continue upgrading the Legends Insecticons with Shrapnel and interested to see the redecoes and retools this brings. Happy to see Beachcomber is coming, guess I am going to fully upgrade my Legends Minibots. Bring me Gears & Powerglide! Rum-Maj Gen Selects retool from the new Junkion Motorbike? Studio Series was a bore, nothing new to be shown off; was hoping for some 86 stuff like Snarl & Cassettes or even ROTB Optimus Primal. Can we seriously not get updates to Armada Characters not named Starscream, Hot Shot, & Megatron already? This is their second attempt and I'm glad they're perfecting them finally but I want some other guys like Red Alert or Demolishor or Wheeljack already.
G2 Dreadwing does have potential for repaints though considering it can be reused for (one of the) G2 Megatron, BWII BB, RID2001 Dreadwind and others that I don't quite remember. Also, the character itself is fairly unique in terms of proportions and vehicle. This might be enough for the team to make an update.
Can you blame them? It's gonna be spendy when it finally drops and they've just wrapped a HasLab project and are prepping to launch a retail Titan. There's probably a tight window to launch a Selects Titan. They may even be working through plans with different retailers who may want it as an exclusive so they can have a bit of financial backing in case audiences are too tapped out for it.
As Twincast has been a long time want of mine, I will be getting him. Skyquake will also be joining my Prime collection.
Well I am in for the most of the legacy stuff, just not Skyquake because not buying Prime figures. I would buy it if he does in fact get redone. Pretty much will get all the others except the Junkion. Not buying Modulators/Weaponizers anymore, I just don't use them how they are intended and they are just no name characters. I'm good with Wreck-Gar and Junkheap. Passing on all movie Figures, just not into them anymore. I MIGHT get Scourge. MIGHT. LOL Are we getting Bombshell too this year? I see he is in the Legacy Evo artwork.
Ooh. Metalhawk actually looks really good! I was pretty sure he was going to be a retool, but I never once considered the Kingdom Cyclonus mold. It works relatively well, all things considered. Give me ALL the Junkions. Hasbro could keep doing these forever and I'd probably by all of them. Such fun new additions to this line. Animated Prowl actually looks like Animated Prowl, so that's a pretty huge step up from the abysmal Prime figures we got last year. (OK, to be fair, the mold for Arcee is really good from an engineering standpoint and makes a killer Road Rocket, but it's not working for me as Prime Arcee.) And I think I really like that Skyquake as well. The jet mode looks really cool, and relatively clean. The bot mode isn't the best likeness, but it isn't nearly as far afield as Bulkhead was last year. Just looks like a cool figure. Gotta say, I'm loving the character choices this year. Leo Prime, Tarn, Metalhawk, Skyquake, Animated Prowl. We're getting some awesome variety and some characters we've straight up never gotten before in the west and it's really scratching that itch for me. Excited for more Armada stuff in the pipeline (come on, Prime) and to see what else they throw at us. I've seen some of the leaked listings, though I haven't kept up on the spoilers as thoroughly as I could have (does anybody have a breakdown of future waves they want to share?) but some of the choices look as spicy and interesting as this bunch. Going to be a great year if the toys deliver!
G2: Megatron and Starscream (unreleased) BWNeo: BB and Starscream Robots in Disguise 2001: Dreadwind and Smokejumper Robot Masters: Gigant Bomb and Smokesniper At least, the reason for Skyquake's off-model aspects isn't simply "just because" like the previous Prime updates. His design changes are a result of the toy design being a 50/50 hybrid of both Prime and G1 Skyquake (the original).
I'm saying that he shouldn't be a CJ repaint. Doesn't make sense. I am just going to repurpose the Medix character for him.
