Pretty sure that won't happen. It's a newly created Dinobot that is more Dinoking pretool than an actual character they care about. At $13 it's a "cheap" limb for Volcanicus, at $55+ it would be a leader toy without nostalgia propping up sales.
But what would be the chances of that since Leader Class Dinobots are mainly focused on Studio Series?
True but also tbh it is a Dinosaur so marketing team wise I think it would be easy to get the go-ahead. I think it could still do well. If they have to they could do a retool of Slug or Snarl. Also Scorn. Can have kinda a B team or a second squad of Dinobots: Slash, Scorn, Skar, and Paddles.
Indeed. I don’t care about smaller versions of characters. If you’re gonna make a new Dinobot toy, don’t make it a core class without also making a leader size.
On the one hand, yeah I would love more full size Dinobots for the roster. On the other, core Skar only exists so he can be repainted into Gairyu. He’s unlikely to ever appear in new fiction.
I'd probably be down something like that, that being said I still find it weird he has a horn on his head like a Rhino despite being an Ankylosaurus.
If it is Skar, I may just treat it like Slag/Slug and they couldn’t use the name Slapper for Slag reasons.
That stance would be fair enough, but I feel there's a difference between "uncreative" and "not what I wanted". That's where my issue lies.
Reminder of what Skar looks like. He died before he could take on a Dino mode, but he’s more or less the same character as Slapper and Scowl(RID15).
I'm starting to think that even Skar's core toy could be a retool... give Volcanicus 2 similar legs...
Skar would be sweet if based off that comic design. Also slightly off topic but do we have a theory list of what wave 2 will be?
