This article practically reeks of normie, which is the norm for these kinds of rags.

The TV discussion is right below the movie discussion area. Also Transformers Prime has been over for years now, way to stay relevant you muppets.

I imagine that this is how the white knights of AoE and TLK (moreso the former than the latter since the latter pretty much doesn't have any) see my long-winded posts about how terrible those films truly are and how they've seriously damaged the brand.

As for the article itself, while I do agree that Transformers Prime was a disgusting load of utter bullshit, the unprofessional way the article is written and general apathy for the concept of Transformers as a franchise almost makes it sound like they are describing virtually any given Transformers show (except RID 2001 since I don't think Energon actually came up there), if it wasn't for the article namedropping Fowler and Dark Energon and the like.

Dang, you're right! I only read RiD and thought it was irrelevant.

Not gonna lie, Megatron IS daddy, and the Decepticons ARE vastly superior to the Autobots.

Parts of this article had me fucking cackling.

Yeah, a lot of this is applicable to the franchise as a whole. Sure, a lot of transformer lore makes no sense but the concept itself is cool enough to be relevant for more than 30 years and counting. The take on the toys is spot on though.

I could barely read through it. It was condescending for condescension's sake.

    It was really boring.

The tone of the author came off as a smug know-it-all, who doesn't seem to know much at all and takes pride in it.

Yeah I doubt even TFP’s biggest detractors could sit through that, good lord :lol

To be fair, the notes about Optimus being bland and boring were somewhat spot on... then they went after Peter Cullen and I said “aw, hell no!”

True-and he seems very wishy-washy to me: 1 minute he speaks of how Prime's death in TFTM had him gutted; the next minute he comes off like a dumb jock who automatically thinks science fiction is stupid, and acts like he's encountering the whole concept of transforming robots for the very first time.

While I have my issues with TFP, I may have to go to IQ rehab to get my brain back after reading that article. . .

The core of earth isn't made of energon in the show either.

Stopped reading there. I'm all for a good trashing of the franchise, if it's written well. Or even just coherently. This was not.

He's a fan who's actually self aware that the concept is stupid and now he has to sit through the same thing with his kids. What s funny is that he actually goes on to say it's by far the best show his son watches and he praises it a bit by the end. I think some people here want to use the excuse that they think it's poorly written to cover up the fact that they were personally offended that their beloved franchise was criticised.

Well, not me, I honestly think Prime was a piece of shit show when held by the merits of basic storytelling before even factoring in stuff like Megatron being touted as the biggest and baddest Decepticon except he was dumber than a sack of bricks and couldn't easily defeat a bunch of insecticon mooks despite being the greatest gladiator champion of Kaon since the show established that's how he became a populist movement leader.

I gave up on watching the show after the first 5 episodes, but that's mostly because it didn't really interest me. I'll take your word that it sucks lol

As a vehement curmudgeon of TFP, I found this article impossible to finish.

I pray to God this is not what I sound like when I criticize the show.

You may not be entirely wrong, but I mean, it is still poorly written.
