Literally the words I uttered aloud when I saw the thread title.
I remember this movie when it was Wall-E.
I see Lost Light has been on Lorenzo's reading list.
Lorenzo has a talent for taking concepts that have existed in TFs for decades and just making them sound like the worst things ever.
Leave us alone you stinky old man. You’re cramping our style.
I quite agree; they need to Perlmutter his arse, fucking fast.
I couldn't agree more. They're not soulless machines, they're living beings with emotions, personalities, desires, culture, etc. It makes sense that some of them would develop romantic feelings for each other. The only real issue is that they won't be able to have sex, seeing as how they lack reproductive organs, but they don't need to have those in order to care about each other. Even we humans, who actually are capable of having sex, don't always hook up with someone just to get in bed with them, we usually hook up with them because we love them. Who says robots can't do the same?
I've got a suspicion he's planning a movie about a Conjux Endurae between Bumblebee and Optimus.
We've gone from 'They're F***** Giant Alien Robots - They don't need personalties.' to 'People can't relate to them. Let's make them more human. I know, let's have a love story.'
'But no sex. Absolutely no sex. Maybe. We'll have to think about that'.
Of course, the movies are meant to sell Transformers toys. Maybe Hasbro are planning some 18+ ones.
I've got an idea. Let's try and get the hang of making good Transformers movies first, before you get into Cybertronian romance.
Bumblebee is a good, long overdue, step in the right right. But I get the feeling Bonaventura really wants to run the other way.
If this translates to exploring the emotions and inter-personal relationships of the Transformers themselves beyond "you annoy me, so shut up or else I'll kill you," then I'm all for it. Unless you believe the misconception that romance revolves entirely around sex, there is nothing wrong with romance between the actual Transformers. They have always been portrayed as emotional beings who feel sadness, anger, amusement, fear, loyalty, and self-preservation, so there's no reason why love shouldn't be among those emotions.
They can barely do action right.lol. Their depiction of robot romance is likely to be Uber corny and cringe.
Please, don't remind me of Anakin and Padme. All those years looking forward to the origins of the Skywalker family.........And then the ones trying to forget........
Anyway, baby steps. I want to be satisfied that the guys in charge of the Transformers movies really can handle simple stuff before they get into something a bit more complicated like love and romance.
Honestly, I'd just be happy if they started treating them like characters instead of destructible background props.
Am I the only one not bothered by this?
Agreed. I think it can only be a good thing to have some characterization beyond heroic monologues, quippy one-liners, and Rock 'Em Sock 'Em robot fights.
Well, Brawn and Ravage did seem pretty intimate in this scene. Looking forward to the future because BrawnXRavage is the OTP.
if i had a dollar for every time i heard that shouted at me from across the room...
God I don't want you to finish that sentence.
Let the fan ships sail.......
Now just wait a second mister.......Jazz and Prowl are the ultimate ship.
This gives new meaning to "lubing up"
Oh Sweet Primus. It just occured to me that HasTak could have an awful lot of tongue in cheek fun with V2 MPs of Thrust and Ramjet.
How about Optimus and Elita?
Separate names with a comma.
