    Damn son, if I didn't know better, I'd think that Don Fig drew that. And yes, that's meant to be a HUGE compliment! Amazing amount of detail - just the way I like it.

    Gwa? I don't know about that. Don is not the be-all-end-all of Transformers artists, let James and his work stand on its own. Everybody doesn't need to be compared to how much they are or are not as good as Don Fig.

    This is one awesome piece and one of the best renditions of Movie Transformers in artwork.

    Hey everyone!

    Thanks for all the compliments dudes! And Inception - don't worry bro, I take that as a fantastic compliment - Don to me is the definitive transformers artist. (But also thanks NIDARAM12 and Ra88 for your comments too :)  Oh and Hiro - you's a Stargate fan?

    BTW, for my blog, I'm hanging it all out there. Tomorrow I plan on talking about my relationship with the man himself Pat Lee (could be a two parter...). I'm even considering doing a whole week long feature about my time at Dreamwave... we'll see.

    Perhaps you guys could help me out and let me know the type of stuff you'd like me to talk about. Also any questions you have for me about Transformers, dreamwave, comics, anything, ask them here, and I'll answer them on my blog.

    Easy guys, I'm not familiar with James' work, and as far as I'm concerned this particular pic has a very "Don" feel & look to it, hence using him as a reference point to make the compliment. No different than liking a new band because they might sound similar to a more established band.

    James, I think it would be interesting to hear about how you broke into the field, how you maintain it, and advice for guys fresh out of school who want to get into comics.

    So far your rendition of Movie Starscream has been the best I've seen btw.

    You bet. Best damn Sci-Fi show since ST:TNG. I have every season on DVD. I was real sad to see it go. I just hope the rumors about a movie come true.
