I'm still trying to find a way to display it on my shelves so that the damn feet don't slide apart and send him sprawling over the edge. Why didn't he come with a stand?...
Yeah, GGGG has been doing far too many splits here, not to mention the several times the lower legs seperated...
And with that little matter nicely dealt with by Scourge it's now time for another round of, "You can look but you can't touch!" with our ever silent Host, Studio Halfeye. http://halfeye.m78.com/products/sc_mgunner/1_mgunner/1_mgunner.html http://halfeye.m78.com/products/gmpm/1_gmpm/gmpm.html Didn't they do well?
Been lurking off and on for a while and always watch this thread. Im selling my CMS GGGG and Star GGG goldy set at fairly cheap prices. I was gonna put them up on ebay but if anyone is interested here I guess I could offer.
I'm ever so slightly disappointed by the Perfect Cannon's barrel. I'd have hoped SHE would have, I dunno, redesigned him more extensively than simply adding an extra slide out panel in the barrel. As is, he's the same as my Takara DX, just smaller, more expensive and a little more poseable. Though he does compliment their Great Might Gaine rather well.
Okay, time for another shoot. Today, I'm covering the second to last of the Brave series I completed, J Decker (Exkaiser was the last, for reasons I shall not go into right now). The plot of J Decker is one that still aludes me. It's robot cops VS robbers and their mecha, with aliens and a giant panda thrown in for good measure. Yeah, its pretty weird. Never seen anything beyond the odd scene here or there, either. The three main 'bots themselves - Duke Fire, left, Gun Max, centre, and J Decker himself, right. Read it from right to left, and you get the order they show up in - Gun Max appears early-ish, with Duke Fire showing mid-series, after J Decker is knocked out of action and a new hero is needed. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/Vehicles.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/DeckerDukeMax.jpg Top link shows off all five in their vehicle modes - Duke Fire is made of fire engine and ambulance, J Decker is a police car and Swat Van, Gun Max is a bike and rider. The lower link shows you the robot modes. Decker, centre, has his trusty police-issue revolver and badge. Duke, right, has his sword - that guy is all about swordfighting. Max, left, has a pump action shotgun. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/MaxCannon.jpg GunMax can transform into a flippin' huge cannon that attaches to the right hip of J Decker. In the series, this weapon is so powerful that firing it lifts J Decker off of the ground! J Decker can also combine with Duke Fire to form Fire J Decker, a very bulky and very powerful looking robot. As if his drill and capture claw weren't enough, he's got a great big huge sword as well! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/FireJMax.jpg Did I mention that he could also use the Max Cannon? J Decker's main support crew are these guys - Dumpson, Maccrane, Power Joe, and Drill Boy. Each of them is an expert in a different kind of combat - Dumpson is good in hand to hand combat, Power Joe specialises in kung fu, Maccrane in gun fu, and Drill Boy in the ancient art of kicking a football at the enemy. (Maccrane, FYI, is a homage to John Maclane of Die Hard fame) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/BuildVM.jpg Vehicle modes. The original three, Power Joe, Dumpson and Maccrane combine to form Build Tiger, who is a very nice homage to a certain Constructicon... With Drill Boy, Build Tiger upgrades to Super Build Tiger! I'm not sure what, beyond armour, he gains from the extra combination. Build Tiger was able to go sub-orbital from his very first appearance after all! Super Build Tiger's special technique is the Tiger Gimlet. He disengages into his component units, which then link up single file into this long "spear" formation, which Fire J Decker chucks at an enemy. Talk about teamwork! Shadow Maru, in Korea known as Shadow Z, is a heavily remolded Sixshot. New head, new chest, new chest wings, new shoulders, new guns and accessories, and a different animal head for beast mode. That's all the major stuff I can remember. Only you can help me bite crime! Shadow Maru's beast mode is a police dog, as opposed to the wolf of Sixshot or the rhino of Greatshot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/MaruTank.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/MaruJet.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Sol_Fury/Brave/1994%20J%20Decker/MaruCar.jpg Shadow Maru's other documented modes. Notice the car mode, like the robot mode, has a different "official" transformation compared to Sixshot's. You're probably wondering what happened to the gun mode. Well, for Shadow Maru, the gun was phased out - you can still make it, but its not documented and so its not an "official mode". HOWEVER: While never official, it does get used in the show as a team attack! The story goes that when Shadow Maru was reformatted to receive his extra transformations this one was locked away, because it was too powerful for him to handle. Alone, faced with an overwhelming enemy, Shadow Maru was forced to break the seal and transform into the gun mode. However, the rest of the Braves arrived to help him control the attack and steady him, which is where this "group attack" comes from. Here's a nice shot of the whole group, all with their badges and police issue revolvers (except Maccrane, who doesn't get a revolver). It's a cool little extra, each Brave in this series gets their own accessories, but they all also get the gun and the badge to keep with the "police" theme.
I've received my Brave Sunguard last week and, if everything's goes as planned, I should have my Grand Fighbird in hands tomorrow. I will post pics of those guys ASAP! Can't wait to see the two of them combined! (sigh) I LOVE Brave toys.
Awesome pics and info SF Glad to see Im not the only one who does'nt like using those round white missles. Only use one for SBK's shoulder launcher Shadow Maru's wolf head looks pretty cool. Like how you have JDecker using his gun mode. Also like how the Police Braves have badges http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/loebig/Brave%20Series/Policetigerteam.jpg Here's a size comparison pic The ebay guy got on under his Korean name and just sold an Oversized Bruticus . Sol- Man that Shadow Maru guy looks great! Just out of curiosity how rare/expensive does he usually go for? Might have to keep my eye out for that one. But ya very impressed with that one. Also I'm also very interested in those Saurers guys you posted as well. They look pretty nice might have to keep an eye out for those as well. Awesome pics of them btw too Great stuff everybody, especially Sol and CM your collections and shoots are jaw dropping This thread has been very educational My wallets going to hate me though
Yeah, after seeing that problem with a friend's GGGG I passed him up. CM GGGG's is beautiful but I prefer my toys to be durable and sturdy too.
