Megatron's final death was fairly sad, but more pathetic. He failed at everything.

I thought the ending was alright. In comparison to the first three films, it was executed better.

After seeing the "resurrection" of Megatron, I thought for sure that Starscream would follow but sadly doesn't appear to be the case.
This sort of thing happens all the time with page to big screen iterations. People feel protective of the characters they create.
