G1 Shockwave - Voyager Scale - W.I.P. 'Sup dudes. So I've found this cheap K.O. Shockwave and I decided to downsize it a little so I could try making this voyager size custom figure. I cut about 1,0cm of the center of the whole figure, divided it in two halves, sanded down and put the two halfs back together in order to have a more slim silhouete for Shocky, removed hips ends, added up new articulated shoulders, head, tighs and kept his original legs. Bad thing here is that the legs still look skinny and don't fold down and also can't connect together for the altmode. I will try other legs and will also try adding new layers to the original ones so they will look thicker. His height is about TFC Orion but can be shortened. Ideas and opinions are welcome.
shoulders/arm look little oversized, but a really good start WELL DONE!! I might also find myself a 3rd KO shocky 4 this lol
yeah i agree with G its a marvelous start and the waist slimming really helps with the torso and legs ( i think the inner lower calf could be bulked out just a bit, but still looks good as is), but the slimming of the waist magnifies the oversized arms. i think if you could narrow the shoulders a bit and maybe shorten the forarms this would be a perfect shockwave. One that the classics shelf desperatly needs
Woo... I like this so far. Even the thugged out torso kind of works. What legs are those? They look familiar... TUTORIAL!! zmog
I like it so far. I love G1 Shockwave. Just like to remind you to paint those "side boobs". They weren't too noticable on the original mold because it was all purple, but with the current pics, the grey really pops.
Hey bro, how you doing? I understand. I assure you that this impression is because the two half spheres under his "arm pits" are painted silver, this will look much better after painted up with the right collor. Thanks. Thanks bro, I will try to narrow his shoulders as you suggested, I just have to make sure that this will not affect the transformation though. I think the arms extention are good though, will check again when I get home. Vai cagá Thanks! Inner legs are from Universe Powerglide, the only one compatibles with the legs in terms of measure. Thanks bro, will try to make a tutorial if this gets properly done. Thanks bro, exactely like that, I will try to narrow the shoulders a little though.
Oh, very nice. I'm on-and-off working on a similar piece but got stuck on trying to figure out something for the legs. I was trying to use all the original pieces, but with thicker lower legs to make room for the added joints for articulation. He looks good with thicker upper legs though. I may have to dig through my parts box when I get back around to revisiting this project. Looking forward to seeing where it goes though and what you decide to go with.
Dude!...where'd you go? This is very interesting Shocky you got going on. I'm digging how the chest piece is going. Is that part of the KO down sized? With the shoulder/arm thing, I remember someone using classic prime arms on a bash as the shoulder connector can be adjusted to sway upwards like in shockwaves transformation. You could always shell the original arm parts over top. Might help with the proportions. Regardless...looks great, especially with the idw prime (where is Hegemon?) and I totally want to see more bro. * side boobs....hahahahahahaha*
that looks great. any pics of it in color? plan to get it cartoon accurate? Shockwave was always one of my fav bad guys....right behind Megatron
Thanks pal, I'm really excite with this project! Isn't easy finding good legs for Shockwave. Valkyrie (Jetfire G1) legs are good though bro, depeding on the altmode you want for him. Good luck. Hey bro, I'm around and back to activity I changed his shoulder connectors, had to make new ones and now it's looking ace. BTW this is not a downsized K.O., it's a regular K.O. with the same dimensions, I just cut a few milimiters of the whole mold in order to redimension its size. I'm making a second one and posting the W.I.P pics. Side boobs are funny indeed hehe. Aye bro, I'm posting some coloured pics of the W.I.P. I'm still painting it up though. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Work In Progress : 23/06 * I made him new shoulder connectors so his proportions improved considerably. ** New side pannels added up underneath his legs. ** Shoulder "spikes" sanded donw in order to accomodate the new shoulder connectors better for the altmode. Aldo...I managed to put my hands on a junker shocky and I'm making a second one. I realized that the plastic of the original G1 mold is pretty much inferior compared with the K.O. one but I'm being able to repeat the cutting process over again without major complications. Now I need find him new legs and a new head too as I tottaled the G1 one while trying to reduce its size... * Please check the pics to see how I redimensioned the whole mold, they are self explanatory. Thanks for checking this out.
he narrowed shoulders are way better!!!! cant wait to see more progress and glad to see you back at it!
