Accessing Decepticon Justice Division secure files. Opening THE LIST. Entry #157,845: Nosedive Nosedive often has good intentions and is genuinely skilled. Unfortunately for himself he very often is his own worst enemy. He very often fails at tasks given to him simply because he does them wrong. He is not stupid or unskilled, but for what ever reason, he always fails. His name was given to him for this reason. His failures have even been to the detriment of the Decepticon cause on more than one occasion. Among numerous other "achievements" he has been the cause of 5 energon stores inadvertently being destroyed, 153 counts of interfering with official Decepticon actions, has been accused of being an Autobot spy on 3 occations (all 3 were rescinded due to lack of competence), 24 counts of friendly fire against a superior office, 4 counts of imitating a superior officer (Starscream). Nosedive isn't a particularly valuable asset but he is a pleasant person. His commander, Decatron, has repeatedly commissioned pardons for him claiming, "what Nosedive lacks in accomplishments he makes up for in moral and comitment". By accounts of his squad mates, Nosedive is a rather enjoyable person and well liked. Traitorous Threat Level: Moderate Logging off Decepticon Justice Division server. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here's another of my Fall of Cybertron custom characters, Nosedive. I again put a lot of effort into this only to have it disappoint me (but I guess knowing Nosedive I should have expected that). Over all I'm pleased but I keep seeing minor things that just bug me. When I sealed him, some of his paint seemingly washed off despite having dried for hours. Also my green was much darker than I hoped it would be. In person it's not bad but some of the pics make it difficult to distinguish between the black and the green. But at the end of the day, I'm satisfied with him. I've included a picture of his in game self as well. I wish I could have done a head swap or other mods to get closer to the in game version but I couldn't figure out how. Nice to see the wing switch worked out! Did you end up modding them at all? I really like the green, it is dark, but the way the black hides in its shadow is a nice effect. Maybe drybrush a little silver in areas to show some wear and separate the colors if you want to. Digging it and looking forward to more!
I dig it.I feel your frustration on the paint. When I finished my FOC Jazz the same happend with that paint work. That green is pretty cool and as mentioned already,I also like the wing reversal. What character is that you have there in blue with that Jazz mold?I like it a lot!
Thanks guys. The wing swap Wasn't terribly difficult; no modding needed at all outside of a pin manipulation. I wish I could take credit for it, but Neek was the one who first put the idea in my noggin. Basically all you have to do is remove a pin, flip the wing and reset the pin. See this post for the pitfalls. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...l-foc-appreciation-thread-21.html#post8697939 That, my good sir, was made by the astounding Fakebusker and sold through Shapeways. I have a bunch of the weapons he's made and am always willing to whore myself out as his advertiser. Check out all his stuff here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/579265-weapons-secession-shapeways-gallery.html Thanks guys. This might be a case where I have to step away from the figure to see how it actually is. I keep seeing all the tiny imperfections. I'm very grateful he looks as good as I had hoped. Yeah man, my Jazz repaint is also giving me hassle. I have a Sideswipe repaint that I'm starting to dread starting for this reason. The teal (not blue ) Jazz is another of my custom characters, Roadburn. I included a link to him and Sunder (the Brawl repaint) in the first post.
I can imagine this guy and your other character roadburn being a dynamic duo like ransack and crumplezone or blue bachus and black shadow
Great work! The dark green works and keeps it from being Acid Storm. Reversed wings work best in jet mode IMO. Any unpaintable plastic in this? I plan on doing Thundercracker and would like to know how to get around that problem.
Hehe, actually I see all 3 of characters being in a squad lead by my 4th FoC Charter who I can't make a custom of. If by unpaintable plastic you mean what I think you mean, then not really. The only paint issue I had (besides my own minor glaring flaws) was that it seemed like some of the paint had washed off when I sealed it. It's not completely noticeable but some places you can see the plastic underneath when you couldn't before the sealing bath. I'd say this is a great figure and would be tempted to do a Thundercracker myself if I weren't positive one will be made eventually.
He looks great! That darker color scheme hides the hollowness very well. You sure you don't want to know him Skyquake?
Yeah, there's a couple very minor issues with it but I agree. The backwards wings does help make it look different from Screamer. I too realized that the black would help hide the hollowness. Granted in person I rarely even notice the hollowness but I did notice the side effect as well. And if I'm understanding you correctly, you are asking if I'm sure I don't want him to be Skyquake? The answer to which is I'm sure. I ALWAYS enjoy making my own characters in a property much more than identifying with one already established.
