Continuing the Trio of bugs comes Shrapnel. Which I thought with two bug like horns on his back would have been a dead ringer for a Insecticon custom.

P.S. Also check out the other two Insecticons in the links below.

    DOTM Kickback

As with the others I am going for a Street racing motif. To explain why his hood and roof is a different gold than the doors and sides.....well some things didnt turn out as planned with the stenciling hahaha. But I like i all the better because just like some bugs it multi-shaded. His honeycombing was also done with mini stencils.

Overall this is one of the easiest customs I've done. Little to no paint rubs since the base figure is a shell-former. DOTM Crankcase is te base figures btw.

Even though you used two different shades of gold, I still think it works. It helps break up the colors a bit while still maintaining continuity.

And as I said previously, I love the honeycombing motif that you used.

Now that would be perfect for Shrapnel.

Yeah, this is definitely some great work, and I'd never even though about how well something like this would take paint (what with minimal rubbing).

You can bulkhead just look in the tutorial section. That is the perfect way to start somewhere on customizing. And practice and pushing yourself.

Glad you like my customs so well. :D
