Ok....lets see if I can get through this the THIRD time without getting the damn "SDCC" error..... Pretty simple, straight up repaint. Been done before, etc, etc, but I'd been meaning to paint one of my own for a while now, and well, with $7 Primes at TJ Maxx, now seemed like a good time Anyway, I tried to stick as close to the RID toy/show color scheme as possible since I wanted this to be that specific Scourge, instead of some generic black Nemesis Prime or whatever. I did, however, specifically leave all the clear details in the head and shoulders, cause I thought that was pretty nice addition. Colors used were Model Master Semigloss Black, custom dark metallic grey, custom teal, Silver, and Tamiya Clear Red lacquer spray (which, unfortunately, did not dry as clear as I'd have liked. I normally use their acrylic bottles, but my local shop was all out). Thanks for looking!
He looks sooooooo much better in this paint job. It'd be silly for Hasbro NOT to repaint him into RiD Scourge. Really digging the paint apps. Great job. Kinda unfortunate that the clear piant didn't work for it, but considering not all windows were clear this probably works better honestly.
After seeing him in person last nite, I'm jealous! He needs to be part of my Scourge Collection. U list the other one on eBay yet? -Lethal
Well, its not so much that they're not clear, they're just not super clear. You can still see through them in person, but yeah, I was still a bit disappointed.
see now, you state that you used the semi gloss black paint, but it looks so smooth i could swear it was dyed or even re-casted in black. im very jealous of your skills! to mirror what others have said this is what hasbro should be releasing i would buy it in a heartbeat.
I agree with AX23. After painting a few of these, I know how challenging that head can be, and you really nailed it. Awesome details.
The head actually works really well in these colours, like a Prime clone gone wrong. Great job, but if you were going RiD show colours why the Decepticon symbol rather than the upside down G2 bot one?
Thanks! It took quite a steady hand! Well, one: except for a very few rare occasions you never saw Scourge's symbols in the cartoon. He was completely symbol-less. And two: I wasn't just going for show accuracy, but rather that specific characters accuracy, including his US toy, which does have 'Con symbols.
Paintjob is so clean you'll think twice if this is a custom or a factory-release. This mold really needs to be made into Scourge. The facesculpt fits an "evil" character better. Awesome work!
