a basic repaint of the stealthforce prime into a old favorite of mine. this was the first time i ever tried to use gamesworkshop citadel paints and i didn't really like it. i think i'm going to stick to tamiya acrylics. i also butchered a fastlane toy semi rig to try to make the "correct" sleeper unit but that didn't work out in the end. i intentionally left certain areas their stock color just to make it seem like prime was really squeezed into there. the stripes are hand cut vinyl.
I wish Optimus could've been the newer International Lonestar (that would've been sick!!!!) I like your experimentation with colors. Why don't you like the games workshop paints? I have never tried them. I have used Tamiya paints plenty of times. What's the difference?
I always loved Mask. Had a similar idea to make a rhino out of the 2007 voyager prime. But never bothered my arse trying it. This is damn good. And looking at it has got me humming the mask theme tune.
thanks for the comments fellas!!! i found the coverage really sucked compared to tamiya acrylics. it almost seemed like the gamesworkshop paints were "clear" based as opposed to "solid" based. after doing many more coats than i would have had to do with tamiya's, i'm still not really happy with the end results. also, before clearcoating,i found the paint to be really soft and delicate compared to tamiya where it hardened into almost a eggshell coat. i did let it dry thoroughly too for a day and a half on a heat vent at home. it's actually the "stealth force" prime.some cool molds have been released so far, this one transforms electronically at the touch of a button and is motorized with lights and sounds, others transform with just "quick springs",while others transform like the old vintage "starcom" space vehicles.
Wow looks great! I had the same idea but decided to instead repaint and decal the hound one to G1 colors and call it MASK meets TF Hound. Its on Ebay for barely more than the toy cost and wont sell...
