Classics Steeljaw, the base mold was a knockoff cybertron legends Leobreaker.

When the legends toys first appeared, I didn't like them at all. But then, I began thinking about them as great molds for minor / smaller characters homages. The cassettes were one of these, and when I saw the legends knockoff toys, I immediately thought to buy them to work on some repaints :)

I was not so happy with the yellow in his legs and waist. It was supposed to be a hue closer to red.

looks like a great start. I would add a small amount of orange into your mix of yellow and give him a few more thin coats of paint to bring it out.

Yeah that color of yellow doesn't really fit Steeljaw.

    >warriorpriest: thanks, I will try that!

    >seibermore: I agree, I don't know why this yellow turned out like this, judging by the color of the cap it was supposed to be more like the original toy's tone of yellow. Let's see if I can fix it.

You could also paint a lot more! There's so much molded detail in the yellow parts. Perfect for drybrushing. Drybrush the manes too, and then add a wash on them. Imo, this is one of those molds where the only a black base-coat is painted on, and the rest drybrushed on.

Can't believe there are actual screws sticking out of his ankles lol.

    >fateastray: I see what you mean, you are right, he has a lot of detail in there... what a pity this is such a small toy. Also, the original Steeljaw didn't have that much different colors to choose, so I wasn't sure which ones to add. I think I will do as I did with Saur, and take the colors from the cassette tape decoration (black, and red).

I think I will try to give some better paint apps to this guy. Also, the screws are horrible... after re-assembling it, they won't fin in deeper than that, I don't recall if they were like that from the start, but I will try to fix that too.
