Id like to start by saying speical thanks to SMOG, and his Brawn thread, for the inspiration for this custom, without his idea, it wouldn't be. Brawn started as an Universe 2.0 Hound, I scratch built the hindged hard-top/chest piece, and crotch piece, I reworked the front end, rear bumper, and side panels, knees, hood scoop, and other nick-nacks. I also made a transformable spare tire/granade launcher. His head was made from a Cyclonus head(again thanks to SMOG for the idea) that I filled, shortened, and widened to look more toon accurate. Hope you like.
Thanks. I used Krylon Fusion Camo Olive for the green base coat, and Fusion Camo Black for the Black basecoat, and a fusion tan for the basecoat under the custom mixed orange. And custom mixed all the colors for highlights, etc... then, Testors Dullcoat.
WOW! that turned out awsome! if you you wanted to sell of kits to upgrade hound into Brawn you would defently make a pretty penny lol i would defently buy! Awsome work! Completely amazing!
There's just one problem- and its quite a glancing flaw: His shoulder should have more protection. After what happened last time Shoulder-related death jokes aside, this is a really nice figure. Its awesome when some one can modify a figure to the point of taking on a life of its own in both modes- as though having an entirely new mold.
HOLY CRAP!!! That is awesome. Wow, you changed the eyes from I'm going to kill you red to I'm here to help you blue..sweet. The gun is a nice touch, as far as I see it he looks badass.
And lo, the dream is made real! Looks amazing, dude! I like how you went with a deeper green for Brawn (though logically I guess Hound should be the matte olive, his being the military vehicle, and Brawn being the civilian, but whatever...). The head is the piece de resistance... the dull, drybrushed steel look is exactly how I envisioned it. It's amazing to think that it was once Cyclonus, because it really is pretty much a fully cartoon-accurate Brawn head! The subtle modding on the parts is awesome. Mine, (if/when it's finished) is going to be so much lazier than this! zmog
Dear Hasbro - can you make this please.... Beautiful work, spot on, although I'd probably want the arms a nice shiny silver to match G1
In the movie it looked to me that the shot caught him in the chassis. That head is fantastic, I can't believe it worked so well, it's perfect.
