OK, so here is my second piece of work. Defensor is based off of the box art so I used streetwise as an arm and First Aid as a leg. He stands at about 16 Inches give or take but he's really sturdy. I also attached the ladder to his back to further stabilize him and allow more articulation. All characters have been modded and are fully transformable. The characters are

    1) Blades = Classic Blades
    2) Streetwise = Classic Prowl
    3) Hot Spot = RID Prime
    4) First Aid = Animated Ratchet
    5) Groove = Armada Sideways

-First Aid got a Head Modification and new arms
-Groove got a new head as well as more articulation

I'm sure there will be further changes to the individuals as I go along but I'd say he's almost there. Need more guns though.

I know what you are thinking - Blades is too big. After beefing up Prowl, I can live with him.

*Special Thanks go to Sculpt-Bot for providing yet another great head mold.*

    *** 11/01/08***
Added basic Chest plate. I don't have anything to dress it up with yet but I'm open for suggestions. I also gave him his duel cannons that attach behind his shoulders for storage.

    *** 11/08/08***
First aid and Groove are done. Beefed up his waist. Need pointers on color.

    *** 11/16/08***
First Coat of paint applied. A few touchups here and there needed but otherwise, I like it. Will take better pictures after final touchups.

    *** 11/22/08***
A few touchups here and there done. Final pictures up. Think I have to give my wife and daughter a break for a while until Bruticus comes out. hopefully I'll get better at painting by then.

I diggin' it! Ratchet as First Aid looks a bit smallish, but Defensor seems to stand without leaning! I'm surprised how proportionally correct blades looks for an arm w/ Streetwise!!:thumb

blades is huge, but he's also a helicopter, so it works. I am unsure about TFA ratchet as FA, there are better choices out there, like cl. IH or Alt SKids.

Looking good though. I thought I was moving along - I need to catch up now ;)

Are you going to do any modificactions on Hot spot. Like making him look like his ureleased universe concept. That would be freakin sweet. 2 modes for one.

I think the way Blades is used looks really good. If things were actually to scale, he'd be even bigger :lol

I echo the sentiment of First Aid. I don't think Ironhide would be a good choice for First Aid though. Alt Skids would be so out of place, though. Mixing Alternators and Classics is just OFF. At least Animated Ratchet seems to fit somewhat.

Armada Sideways doesn't make a great Groove IMO either. I think a better mold choice would be RiD Axer.

At any rate, I'm excited to see where you go with this piece. Keep up the good work :thumb

I don't think Animated Ratchet will work well with the other figures. The Animated style is to cartoony when compared to the other figures you've chosen.

It's on, dude. I really need to get working on mine.

But seriously, this is looking good. Any plans for a chest shield?

I'm working on a gestalt using evac myself, and I was going back and forth wether to use him for a leg, or an arm. The arm looks great, did you do any mods to him besides the forearm add on?

great work on this. Looks really good.

I'm not sure about Ratchet, although I guess he could work to fit in with some moding and maybe a new head mold. Just not big on that beer gut that he has.

The more i look at this, the more I think I might go back and swap blades to this mold. Having 1 large arm is something that will work in my book.

Another issue I see is that there seems to be too much primus showing. Almost from the knee to the chest is primus - sorta like he's just got new arms and legs.

Combining animated with it is a bad idea, maybe you could use E. Towline instead.
Other than that, that thing is looking awesome!

    INteresting....

I'm impressed that you've managed to balance Blades with Classic Prowl as arms... even if it does sort of involve a "cheat" with Prowl. :)

Besides that, it looks great! I love that you used TFA Ratchet.

Size wise he was extremely close to Sideways and a few mods here and there will help him out. The only thing I can say he really needs is a new head. After replacing his arms, and seeing how his front flipped up, I was sold on him.

I totally agreed with that statement too. In his original transformation, he looked terrible when comparing to the others...both looks and articulation. A couple of changes and again...I liked him. He has a few more modifications to go but all in all, he is a good size to go with ratchet

Not yet but you never know.

Not really, he was the easiest mod out of the bunch. All I had to do was put a peg on his underbelly and one at the aft under the tail.

This, to me, is the best way to go. I get 1) a sturdy frame, 2) a way to effectively attach the ladder, and 3) great articulation on the overall Gestalt. As a fellow fan of Unicron, I know you understand the importance of stability and articulation with these big guys.

I thought about him but size wise I wasn't sure he would compare to sideways...which is hard enough to match up to.

Thanks man, I like the way he is shaping up. Still some stuff left to do but I was too excited to wait to post him.

You know I'M loving this "moeSizzlacDefensor" and the proportions look good to me.

Did you blast holes in the truck windows so the shoulders would attach? How does that work? It's also interesting to see, while using RID prime as the base, the classics take on this which you and F_R have adopted. To me the RID firetruck fits with the Alt/MP scale stuff pretty well. So while that's the path I've taken with my Defensor, and I'm paying for it in development time, your version looks excellent because all vehicles are more in proportion to their respective limbs rather than overall matching vehicle scales.

Finally, that's a great idea to swap Primus hands in, they probably fold right up into truck mode like Primes little hands did right? Do the chest shield if you can, it will see so much more super-bot if you do.

    Cheers mang.
