So after a very long "holding" pattern for DC, he back & this time I'll finish him.

After a much failed attempt at dying Screamer, I was stuck with a warped & junker Screamer.
I decided to try and use any & all parts I could to add to DC's Alt & Bot modes.
Alt mode & head mod's 95% completed, just needs a final 320grit sanding.
I was trying to invoke the look DC's flight mode from BW with the Alt mode mods.
I hope it comes across. I'm going to start on the bot mode mod's now.

Personally, I think your on the right path. I really like the side fin/gills!  Maybe make the brow more pronounced and emphasize the "fish lips". But it may look too much like the creature from the black lagoon. 

 

I would leave it, except for 2 things, Can you give him more of a brow, you know, kinda pissed off. And, push in his mouth a lil, like on the BW head. Other than that, it's already hella sweet.

 

I think the aforementioned brow work and making that middle ridge on his BW head would make this super awesome.

 

I really like what your going for but for me the MOUTH definately needs more definition. then again i have never made my own head.

Looks real good!!  You did pick a very difficult character, in as much as there really is no sharp edges. It's like one big continuous surface. An excellent job for sure!  Is it 'Screamers head under all that work? 

 

It will be about another week (or 2) before I get to the paint stage.
I'm about 50% done the mods for DC. Trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet

So far I've spent about 30 to 40hrs sculpting the mods
Yes it is Screamer head under all the might putty (well parts of 2 to be exact).

That's always the way!! Never as easy as it looks on paper!!  I am trying to make TFA Combaticons, mainly 'cause Swindle gets a toy and Magnus SCREAMS Onslaught to me. I've busted my butt tryin' to find an animated mold for Vortex. I finally figured a way out like after 5-6 hours of just trying possibilities! I have to scratch build the whole cockpit/nose cone area.  I'm about 2-3 hours away from some WIP pics of 'im!

You seem to be the first person that picked up on that, RL
I tryed to have a top fin but could not find a way that
1) it looks right & 2) was not to fragile.
If you have any ideas I'm open, but I've run out of my own.

 

just make it less pronounced. Apoxie Sculpt would be far from fragile, too.
