Que Bravo is a pilot and software developer who turns into a turbo-prop airplane. During the civil war he served the Autobots as a guard in military prison. After the war he left factions behind as a NAIL, once again working as a pilot for private enterprise. The new parts were 3d printed in PET plastic (white) and ABS plastic (red). Acrylic paints. If you have access to a 3d printer you can download the kit on Thingiverse. The combiner parts still work but so far he hasn't been called back into action. I imagine him in a gestalt with other old-timers like Kup and Ironhide, maybe Silverbolt-as-Alpha Trion for the torso.
Oh, wow! I might just have to buy another helicopter after all. So you have two of them there. Are they supposed to be the same character? Or does Bravo have a twin?
...and now that the awe has lowered in my case from earlier, i think this is the coolest thing! now a custom deluxe powerglide will be easy to do, or even make alpha bravo fit a little more in with the other aerialbots! any plans for shapeways for those that lack a 3D printer?
Oh my. Now this is cool. I actually just joined a university 3D printing club, and I think I'll pick up a Vortex for this. Is it possible to use the original head?
If I make a version, can I post some photos here? I think I'll be picking up a Vortex for this very soon, and afterwords this is what I intend to do to him.
Thanks for your comments everybody! Same character. I made this for a Christmas present a couple of months ago & wanted to give a second one ... but Alpha Bravo had gone off shelves by then so I ended up doing a red repaint. (I've since traded for an AB so I can finally make one of these for my own shelf!) This one won't be a decepticon! I thought about doing a "Blast Off" backpack-and-arms kit but now that TakaraTomy has announced their remold it doesn't seem so important. Shapeways didn't like the thickness of some of the parts so I'd have to do a redesign in order to sell it... I have no plans to do that right now. I've got other projects in mind. You could try a site like 3dhubs where you can order 3d prints from local makers, or even upload the model to Shapeways yourself. You have more leeway to "print this in spite of all those scary warnings" as a user than you do as a "store". Everything you need can be downloaded from the thingiverse link in the OP. Just leave the original head in place. The tail change doesn't affect the place where the head is stored. I'd love to see it.
CW Bravado: An Orange Jetformer, because orange guys just aren't as common. Still figuring out the highlights, though.
Okay, the 3D printing club is booked for this afternoon and I'll be able to go over the basics. The following thursday I'll have an Alpha Bravo and the fully printed parts to give this a shot. Also sincerest apologies. I was googling Transformers on Thingyverse and before I saw it on TFW I scrolled past it thinking it was just a plane that had the word 'transformer' in it instead of an actual upgrade kit. Probably should've paid more attention.
Okay, so it's going to cost $55AUD to print from my local printing club. Not too bad. Thought it would be less, but it could've been much worse (as in $88 without being a member). Geez though. When I have time off Uni, I'm working five days a week and buying a 3D printer.
I "mustache" you a question. Nevermind, I'll"shave" it for later. Love it. Great job on innovated a new ver of this mold.
