Thought I'd throw out there some tips for how I built Star Saber, so other people can build him too if they want to.

Keep in mind: I MIX BRICKS. There are both Kre-O and LEGO bricks used in the Star Saber build! Some effects can ONLY Be done with Kre-O, or only be done with LEGO.

    My main tips:
    1) Jumper Plates
Use jumper plates! The jumper plates are 1x2 (and 2x2) plate pieces with a single stud in the middle. These allow you to off-set things when you're building them.

You can see in the pictures how I used jumper plates to centre SS's hands, or to offset his heel spurs.

Modern LEGO jumper plates have an extra functionality that Kre-O jumper plates (Which are designed like old-style LEGO jumpers) that I used in this build -- they can 'jump' from underneath as well as above. You can see that in the picture of Star Saber's wrist.

    2) Ball Joint Pieces
Both Kre-O and LEGO have ball joint pieces -- plate pieces with ball joins. They're not compatible. you need to choose whether to use LEGO or whether to use Kre-O if you want them to join. I use LEGO because their joints are tighter -- but both will give you exactly the same range of motion, and exactly the same kinds of functionality.

On this build I used them to construct the articulation in Star Saber's arms.

    3) Kre-O hinged plates
These unique Kre-O pieces are fantastic for making nice large and well-articulated heel spurs for these kinds of builds. You can see in the pictures how I used jumper plates to offset the heel. It's SLIGHTLY lower than his toes -- allowing his foot to sit quite nicely when connected to the studs.

Okay, some more tips based on Star Saber's torso:

    1) Jumper Plates, for colour variance.
One of the techniques that's really good with jumper plates, which I used on his crotch, is colour splitting. By placing a plate sideways over a jumper plate of a different colour you can have two smaller spaces of a different colour appear in the build.

I did this on this build to replicate the way white is distributed on Star Saber because of Saber's folded up legs.

    2) Kreon crotches + bricks.
Kreon crotches are attached to Kre-o bodies by a long, thick post. This post is sized perfectly for inserting in any bricks! the best for these scale of build is 2x2 bricks. It fits in perfectly.

You know I kinda forgot to show something, didn't I?

My Star Saber has a gimmick! I used a Micro-Kreon to give him a Brainmaster-esque extra unit.

Some paint on the helmet would really push this over the top. LOVE the Brainmaster.
