I just read this post and i have to say, it is RIGHT in so many ways ---------- Why is it that there seems to be this current fad/trend that when movies have some light hearted moments, have significant humor or fun, that they can't also be quality? It's like, the go to criticism I've seen many people run with to knock the incredibly successful MCU. And I couldn't disagree more with that attitude. That's why Avengers is in my top 5 favorite comic book movies of all time, next to Watchmen. A well made movie is a well made movie. Dark, angsty movies can be absolute shit, same as movies that go for more fun or laughs. The strength of the MCU for me is in its world building and its characters. I love that it has some drama and serious character moments but I also love that I have FUN while watching it. The MCU is a world I love to immerse myself in, and part of the reason is the fun of it all. ----------
I just read this post and i have to say, it is RIGHT in so many ways ---------- As a female fan, I don't consider myself above fans who write about the TFs fucking or a TF/human pairing. That's what they're into, more power to them. I embrace every aspect of fandom, even stuff I'm not into, because without fandom, I doubt I would appreciate media the way I do today. In the end, people can make assumptions and stereotypes if they want to, there's nothing I can do about it. Just like there's nothing collectors can do about those who say they're not right in the head for holding on to their childhoods in the form of plastic toys. Or those that will always believe a nerd lives with his mom, is drastically overweight and can't get a girl to save his life. I just find it amusing seeing fanboys judge fangirls. ----------
I'll have to watch it. I saw you post in the "Why Mikaela Broke Up With Sam" thread. I agree with everything you said. Especially when you put that people use the term "slut" wrong. That really bugs me as well.
Personally, I enjoyed the first Sherlock much more. He just seemed more intelligent, and just a better character in the first. Game of Shadows started off slow for me, but it really was a good movie once it picked up. So, I really enjoyed watching both. I haven't seen MIB3 yet, I did like both of the previous movies though. I saw Prometheus and it was great.
I actually thought Hawkeye was going to die. In the scene where he only has one arrow left, and he jumps off the building. I really thought that was it, but Whedon prevailed:p Have you seen any other good movies recently?
Inception was a great movie, Nolan did a great job casting for that movie and his Batman series. Iron Man is my favorite. Robert Downey Jr. Is awesome. I really like Hawkeye and Hulk in that movie. I can't forget Black Widow:D
That is true. I think the only reason I prefer DC is because of Batman. I love Nolan's Batman trilogy, I think those movies topple all of Marvel's movies. Maybe except Avengers, because that is a group of complete badass heroes. Any plans of seeing The Dark Knight Rises?
Do you prefer DC or Marvel? I'm a huge Batman fan, I just couldn't get into Superman. Especially that curl on his forehead, just irked me.
It was such a good movie. Rorschach is my favorite character, he was just a good hero/vigilante. His and The Comedian's death was unreal. I saw that the same director is directing the new superman movie. Personally, I don't have any interest in watching it.
Hey, just somewhat recognized your name was Silk Spectre. Just wondering if you've seen the Watchmen movie?
It could be better...I guess it could be worse too, so maybe I should just try not to jinx myself. I'm the person that says "it could be worse" and worse shows up at the door the next day wanting to sell me something. :) Getting ready to meet my father's new family. Wish it was going to be in FL where he lives, so I could have an excuse to go to Universal Studios, but..... I'm really hoping they open a TF ride in FL. I wonder if the store in Cali has NEST gear. I would love a NEST jacket or something.
Yeah, pushing it back really hasn't done anything other than give them bad press. It just looks bad to pull something that close to a release. It's proof they don't have faith in the project. And unless the original version leaks out (a possibility), people will always wonder how different the first one was. If they get lucky and the new version is very well received in March, they might end up looking alright, but if it isn't.......ouch.
Yeah, I will. I was really looking forward to G.I. Joe, and I honestly think that Paramount made a bad move pushing it back. To me that shows that they already know the film sucks. Killing off Duke was a mistake. Jon Chu has a good concept, but I think he just went in the wrong direction with Roadblock becoming the protagonist.
It is SO awesome. Probably the most fun I've had at the theater in a while, and the most fun I'll have this year (even though I'm sure I'll enjoy Batman and The Hobbit). I really regret not going to the midnight show for Avengers. See it if you can!
