I've never fit in here, even before my complete makeover as a person in the last half a decade. It's also extremely difficult to find like-minded folks in my area. All of my friends at this point are online and scattered throughout the country (and some of them even outside of it).

Combine that with the fact that my ongoing chronic health issues keep me from moving anywhere else, and... yeah, it's hard not to feel trapped.

Are you stuck in one of the rural areas? I was similar. I grew up in a small town where there where no people I could relate too, and no job oppertunities.

I lived close to a big city though, and would spend hours each day driving back and forth to work, because, well, I had too for a good paying job.

Last year I finally moved in with a family member in said city, and I’m so much happier.

Well, it's good to hear you made it out. Unfortunately, I'm stuck here for the time being. Kind of hard to leave when I'm unable to work.
