        I made a 'scabbard' for my broadsword from an old motorbike jacket, a couple of leather belts, and two coat hooks(!). It was designed so only the bottom inch or so of the sword sat in the scabbard, it hooked onto the leather coated hooks at the top on my shoulder.

        To remove the sword - lift up till the tip is out of the scabbard, tilt forwards over shoulder releasing it from the hooks, swing it round and do Arnie's Conan stance ;) It worked really well! Unfortunately I misplaced it in a house move...
