So wait, let me get this right: Jiminez did layouts/breakdowns Andrew Griffith and Brendan Cahill did finishes There's probably an inker or two Colors also Two writers That's fuckin' teamwork!
Well it's going to last 12 issue and was aparently plan for quite some time and it's going to serve as advertisment for the comic books in general seeing how all 12 issue will be coming with Generation toys. I think it's pretty sure that everyone will try to do their best for this event that's why I have high hopes for it. Unlike the last two (three if you count Infestation) it actaully has a competent team behind it and it's though out.
I never understood why robots brings out the inner-snob in people and get such disdain when the people talking that ish are fans of grown adults that run around in multi-colored tights. "Real" artists. Yeah, I bet the real artists that guy was talking about draw women with 40DD breasts with a right-angle back. Jim Lee has drawn Transformers? Did he suck the life out of them too? Also, given the bump in quality for Griffith, "breakdowns" for Jiminez is probably something closer to "just needs to be inked" given the amount of detail PJ is capable of.
Wow, there's an artist I never expected to see on TF. "Finishes" are inks. They're inks over loose pencils (aka "breakdowns"). So basically, the inker has to be a good enough artist to tighten up the pencils him/herself and then ink them. Breakdowns are when the penciler has blocked in the figures and backgrounds, but hasn't done any of the light-sourcing/shading or indicated any textures. So finishing is actually quite a bit of work. But at least the storytelling is all there.
