Kids move beyond a show fast nowadays, and the new kids coming up want to watch their own New Cool Show, not that old show their older siblings watched and has a plot that's far enough along to be harder to get into.

The way to counter that is to renew your property with a new show every 3 or four years.

-ZacWilliam, same reason the toyline gets reinvented just with a slightly longer time frame before reset.

Because Prime hit 65 episodes, which is the number of episodes for a standard syndication package. It's the perfect number because it lets the channel paying for the package air the show five days a week for 13 weeks, which is exactly one quarter of the year. They can air the show in its entirety four times per year this way, which fits nicely into just about any scheduling plan. More than 65 disrupts this balance, and makes the show a tougher sell.

It's just business, and really doesn't reflect too much on the ratings or toy sales or the quality of the show itself. It's simply the most efficient way to make money off of the investment they've put into the show's production.

So I'd MUCH rather have a Megatron resurrected (ie. Galvatron) rather than an Unicron possessed version. Unicron in a little robot suit is a LOT less epic than an actual planet sized Unicron... but Galvatron under the command of Unicron still commands a lot of respect and excitement.

As much as I enjoy Transformers, this is the thing I hate most about it. if you have something that works keep it going, reinventing it every 3 +/- years really sucks IMHO. Hell even MLP gets a season 4 but Prime dosen't ? Sometimes I just want to leave this planet.

I've understood the 65 episode methodology for a long time, after all He-Man & the MOTU was the first animated show to do it back in 1982. Still most newer shows dont even reach that episode count. many are being cancled at 39 or even 26. Then you have shows like MLP & Clone Wars that are exceeding that number . Prime is so much better than either of those shows, there is just no justice in this world.

Not going to lie, was about to panic when I noticed a few names missing from that cast list, such as David Sobolov, Daran Norris, James Horan and whoever would voice the two Predacons...

But seeing as we know the Predacons are going to be in it, but aren't listed in that press release (and assuming that they're not just reusing the VAs they did list), I'm still holding onto hope that those three will appear in the movie.

Call it my inner Red Alert fangirl seeping out, but I am so paranoid/worried that they'll BS some excuse NOT to have either Shockwave or Knock Out in the movie. Surely not, I hope...

It's funny, I didn't know they were doing this and had just finished watching Prime on Netflix and (sarcastically) thought, "Man, good thing they ended it with no open plot threads." Really glad they're doing this. Just wish Animated had gotten a movie to really wrap things up with, too.

Are there any other voice actors missing from the cast list other than
    Darran Norris/Knockout?
Cause if he's not in the movie I will cry. :(

I'm sure he'll be in it. It wouldn't be as fun without him. :)

I remember hearing about Josh Keaton being in the film from IMBD but then again it's likely false since this is IMBD we're talking about.

you know its odd seeing how prime, mlp and clone wars are my fave shows of all time (not including anime)

    and now prime is ending

Disney were aholes and cancelled the clone wars (even after we saw clips of upcoming episodes)

so now I just have to deal with ponies now...........which is not too bad since I don't see this show ending very soon since animation is cheap and it makes lots of money heesh even guys like me like them.

Well, I would never ever call TFP better than Clone Wars, but the fact that TFP made it to 65 is the best evidence that it was a successful show in Hasbro's eyes. TFP will pay off for them for years to come as a result, and as you note, a lot of animated shows don't make it that far. It's frustrating to have to start over for such a business-oriented reason, but it's nothing but good news for the brand in the long term.

Not to mention there is no mention of James Horan or Gregg Berger, and we know Wheeljack is in the movie.

I know what they told us, about the magic number 65 and syndication, but there's more to it than that.

If the show is as popular as the article says it is, it should strike you as odd that Hasbro said you know what, F' it! This shows done.:lol  G1 went longer than this and Clone Wars went even longer:eek:
