I can hardly wait to see how they shoehorn these people into the movie in a way that's so glaringly obvious that you can tell they're there because someone in China footed the bill for the electricity and the Kraft services table.

Sphincter says this smells like a marketing ploy to engender goodwill with Chinese people so that they will buy more movie tickets, but shouldn't the strength of the film itself do that? Yeah, this is super-dee-dooper obvious as nothing more than a desperation move to rope in more Chinese dollars. It's the new product placement... only this time using people instead of a can of coke or a billboard with some company's product on it.

 

A Lolita, really? Does this mean we'll be seeing a Loli-'Con?


But on the whole, not as bad as I expected from MBay. His civilian characters can be real douchebags.

not sure which is more crass: that they did this, or that they broadcast so proudly that they did it. If the article said " TF4 hires 4 black actors", or better yet, "TF4 hires 4 white actors", those would just sound ridiculous. totally cool to say it about Chinese peeps though.

However, I live in the real world where this kind of stuff is not only unremarkable, but expected. I will wait to see the movie before I decide whether or not it's just gladhanding bullshit lip service.
