Awesome, not sure about Phil Jimenez on art, but it's cool. I think i'm just spoiled over seeing Nick Roche on art for so long, I just love his art.

Kind of interested in the story, but that art...
-Shockwave's eye could have really used a circle template.
-I swear I've seen Arcee in that exact pose Rattrap is in. He even has curves.
-Why does Waspinator look like he's part lizard?

To all the people bitching about the art, you do relaise that the artist himself said he only did the cover and that the interior art is done by a totally different artist right?

If you hate it that much get the variant cover.

Hopefully we'll finally get some new Rodimus and Galvatron from this! Especially because this Rodimus looks so cool, I would buy a new Rodimus toy anyway. I love Rodimus :D  Although I usually don't buy multiples, I already have 4 Rodimus :D

James Roberts revealed/let it slip that there's indeed a DLX Rattrap coming.

Not a great fan of the first cover, isn't Jimenez doing any interiors as well? Seems weird that they credit an artist on the cover list for only cover art. Don't really see why they feel the need to bring anybody besides Milne/Roche/Griffith. Perhaps Jimenez is there for a "big name" into the mix?

    No, that's not it.

They wouldn't be making such a big deal if he was just doing covers.

Layouts is just panel placement, orientation and perspective. It may be more than that on a case by case, but if it were any more than that he'd be credited as a penciller on the book. My feeling is that it'll basically be the regular artists with steer by a "name" artist. Enough to draw in someone that recognizes the name, and not enough to actually alienate the loyal reader when they pick it up. For a purely TF fan I think its a gimmick we can ignore, to a wider comics reader it *may* be enough to encourage you over.

I honestly think the casual reader has more to be annoyed about than the regular reader. That said this much upset about something that people think might happen seems a bit like wasted effort to me (especially as it seems to be for 1 issue for now). When it comes out we can grumble or be pleased accordingly, the book will already have been completed so there's nothing to be done about it now.

he's on the first special, but then it's other artists on the other books. James Raiz is on MTMTE and RID, at least for the first issues of each that have been revealed so far.

Andrew Griffith and Brendan Cahill are also on the first special, and in those first two issues of MTMTE and RiD, it's also Atilio Rojo and Livio Ramondelli.

Alex Milne, Nick Roche, Casey Coller, and Robert Gill are all doing art for it, too. We don't know what their issues are yet, though.
