So, I've been thinking about the message from the future we saw in MTMTE #1, and what of that's happened so far, and what consequences have come from that. Most of these have happened in issues far previous to 7, so I'll consider them fair game, but be aware of spoilers.

The message itself read: "Don't open the coffin. Don't let them take Skids. Don't go to Delphi. And do not — I repeat do not — look in the basement. And for the sake of the Cybertronian race itself, please don'tkzzzzzzzk"

    Let's see what we've got...

    "Don't let them take Skids."
--Skids is now a member of the Lost Light crew, and has some pretty nasty pursuit after him of some type. The question here, however is, who is the "them" in the message? Is it "don't let the Lost Light crew take Skids?" or is it "don't let <insert ominous evil people> take Skids from the Lost Light crew?"

    "Don't go to Delphi"
--Seemingly obvious of them, but maybe not. Going to Delphi brought Fort Max aboard, who
nearly killed Rung. And because he was recovering, Red Alert left the flashdrive with him, which led to someone taking it...
and also Ambulon and First Aide. Are one of them not what they seem? Ambulon might certainly attract the DJD too...

    "Don't look in the basement."
--Likely obvious too. Overlord's down there. That's nothing but bad. But why is he there? Who put him there? And why does this get extra emphasis?

    "Don't open the coffin."
    --
I'm guessing this is a reference to Grimlock's stasis pod, or something else aboard that ship that Fracture and the others found.

"And for the sake of the Cybertronian race itself, please don'tkzzzzzzzk"
    --
    ...Nope. I got nothing.

I just hope the time machine Turmoil had from Wheelie's foster planet plays into this, from RID.
    That means Quintesons!

"And for the sake of the Cybertronian race itself, please don't ..." revive Unicron...?

"And for the sake of the Cybertronian race itself, please don't ..." don't let Ultra Magnus leave with Hot Rod.... he's still miffed Hot Rod stole his shuttle.

I'm thinking the "for the sake of the cybertronian race" thing might be to not ignore the call from bumblebee in issue 1

I just feel like this comic is going to get extremely epic when the overlord, grimlock, and DJD plot threads payoff

Don't Let Them Take Skids is most likely referring to Tyrest and Star Saber.

    Delphi could refer to Pharma.

The coffin uh wouldn't directly go to WAP if pertains to Grimlock?

The coffin was confirmed to be showing up during "season 2," so I don't think that's it.

As for the other one? I dunno. Don't open Brainstorm's case? Don't go through the portal to Cyberutopia (based on one of the quotes here)? Don't go back to Cybertron with Orion?

I was thinking that the 'for the sake of the Cybertronian race...' could've related towards Dark Cybertron. Could also be something for 'season 2' - who knows!

Also had they not gone to Delphi Pharma would be left there and not end up batshit insane on Luna 1.

We know why they shouldn't look in the basement now. Overlord gets out, kills MAgnus which sends him to Luna 1 which is a whole heaping helping of problems. I think Delphi refers to not pissing off Pharma and the DJD,

I think the Lost Light is who shouldn't take Skids due to all the trouble that has come from that. The coffin is yet to come (can't wait).

My biggest question is: Who sent the message?
My money is on Skids at this point, if he survives

If the message refers to the Lost Light not taking Skids why would it say don't let "them" as opposed to just saying "don't take Skids" like it does for the other messages "Don't go to Delphi" as opposed to "Don't let them go to Delphi" etc.

In universe answer: the message had heavy interference and we don't know what all was said as it kept cutting in and out. He could have said. Warn the Lost Light. Don't let them take Skids.

    Something like that.

Our universe answer: Because Roberts is a writer who loves to subvert expectations.

The coffin is supposed to come after issue 28, after Dark Cybertron.

Don't let them take Skids might imply the Lost Light picking up Skids, or don't let Sabre and Tyrest arrest him.

Don't go to Delphi must have to do with Pharma and how it paid off from there. If he was still in Delphi he wouldn't be with Tyrest.

Don't look into the basement is possibly the only storyline that has ended from that message.

I'm wondering if it isn't Brainstorm that sent it. the speech pattern sounds familiar to him or Swerve. "It's a list of do's and don'ts. actually it's a list of 'don'ts...'

    "Don't go to Delphi" ..oops.

"Don't let 'them' take Skids." Well... oops again so far, but 'Them" really fits with Star Saber and the Legislators. With the reveal that Saber was an evangelist and Skids was a primalist, nuff said.

"Don't open the Coffin" seems more in tune with Chromedome continuing Rewind's quest for Dominus after the Relinquishment clinics.

"Don't look in the basement." really targeting Red Alert here.

For all we know, it could be the Transformers equivalent of the Jean Grey message. The one Bishop originally heard about how things happened with the death of the X-men, and we're only getting bits and pieces that were scrambled, looped, and rearranged. By the time the message gets sent in real time, it might be entirely different, but played with certain parts missing or edited, sound just like it ;)

Now that you mention it... with all of the homage covers we've gotten, I think someone's bound to do a Days of Future's Past for MTMTE. seems appropriate.
