Meaning one of the reasons Uranos disappoints is all the kibble he has that gets in the way, kibble Ares won't have.

Uranos failed because the core sucked and was terribly proportioned... I thought the limbs looked pretty good, with the exception of the monstrous hands. Ares' core is amazing. Hands look good too.

 

I love the weapons they've got though. its all good. Looks like I will have 2 predakings.

A 3rd party Voltron. Super poseable, with all the gimmicks (cockpits, firing heads, etc.). Sign me up.

 

Thus far, I think almost everything looks really good...except in the leg mode, the arms sorta stick out a bit...

 

I think you may be correct in this regard; the general contention offered by both Transformed and others appears to be that TFC halted factory production of the last two members of the Uranos sextet so as to accelerate their ability to show prototypes of Nemean, Phlogeus, Canobus, and potentially also their as-yet unnamed Streetwise analog.

My issue with this line of thinking is that it only makes sense if one assumes that one or more of the Nemean figures are ready to be mass-produced (and have been for some time), and that the Uranos figures were held back so that the Ares figures could be run in their stead. As (a) the Ares figures we have been shown so far all appear to be prototypes (with the exception of what I believe was a red test shot of Nemean shown at Firefly Cartoon Carnival) and (b) that the Urnaos figures have both come to market long before any Ares figure, that this is patently not the case.

Absolutely. Make no mistake, I respect Grif, and I hold any company that attempts to maintain communication with its consumers in high regard (TFC take note). However, logic dictates that for the very same reasons that TFC might engage in corporate skullduggery, so too many MMC. (Not to suggest that they actively are; merely that perhaps we should not conflate the motive to do so with evidence of the act.)

I would add one final note on this particular issue: I find personally extraordinary that some of the fans here that have to ardently (and to my mind, rightfully) argued that their embrace of third party products stems from a love of Transformers as a concept first, and their love of Hasbro as a company second, are now arguing vehemently over which third party manufacturer they consider to be subjectively the more moral organization. This strikes me as quite backward.

Both Nemean and Phlogeus were shown with their swords in the images from Firefly Cartoon Festival. One could see they would combine even then - the hilt of Nemean's sword is large enough to support a much wider blade; there are two pieces attached to the hilt that combine to form a larger, gestalt-ready grip; and the curve of the sword clearly matches the curve of the back of Phlogeus' blade. My guess is that not-Divebomb will carry an identical sword to Phlogeus, and Canobus and not-Tantrum will carry meat cleaver-like weapons that form the bottom of the combined sword.

I'm still sold on MMC's robot modes but I prefer TFC's animal modes... the gestalt (and possible impending color mishap) may be the kicker... as someone mentioned earlier, this new bruticus project (with possible november pre-orders) muddies up my fiscal waters...

 

so is this scramble city? I know one of the not predakings is...forgot which cause I am doing my voltron set and want to preorder the correct ones lol

Oh man, Rampage is gorgeous.

 

The alt modes do look better then MMC's. But like said, Uranos did look good too... and we all know that turned out quite bad..

 

Too bad we can't mix and match. Tfc's catbots are better than mmc's (especially in altmode) but mmc's rhino and bull are far FAR superior

 

The little reveals were cute a few years ago but this is a combiner and the main point in those is how they look combined.

We are yet to see a single shot of Ares; not even a blacked out image. TFC should do a full reveal like Warbotron and stop this crap.

 

If I recall I don't think any of the pkings is scramble city.
