I came across that feller at TRU on my lunch break today. It was NOT sitting in the Transformers aisle. It was hanging out on an endcap...maybe with Ninja Turtles...or possible Angry Birds. Frankly, I lost peripheral vision once I saw the box, which seemed ginormous. And strapped to a security device...so I couldn't really see anything inside the box. Maybe it was facing the wrong way? I didn't actually pick it up out...I was afraid I wouldn't put it back down. It was a very tempting purchase with all the hype you guys have been giving it...but I just can't invest that much money in one thing (especially not hearing all of the reports of misapplied paint apps and breaking tail fins). I did, however, end up blowing forty bucks anyway (picked up some Legends figures at Target and Walmart--only $7 at Walmart! Cyberverse Legions were $3 there...). Anyway, keep your eyes peeled. They are ending up on shelves.
They have been ending up on shelves. What I recommend is finding a 15% off coupon, returning the legends and picking him up if I was you. Especially if just blew $40 anyway. You won't regret it. BTW, there was many sightings of him already. He really is not rare by a LOOOOOOOOONG shot. I doubt people will have problem finding him in the long run. I am hearing rumors of 3000+ units at local DC.
I touched an MP Soundwave today too, when mine arrived via UPS. A lot of people have, he's been online on and off since 7/18, and in stores for a few weeks. I also touched myself this morning in the shower, because I had one of those sexy dreams and needed to get the poison out.
I congratulate you on your self restraint, but I'm with Alucard77 get the coupon return the legends go to TRU and get Soundwave WIN!
I realize everybody's different and everyone has their own definitions of cost versus value and all that. But honestly? A hundred and twenty bucks is a god damned steal for everything you get in that box.
This, so much this. Soundwave is one of the best TFs ever. I'd rather have him on my desk hanging out than a handful of Legends anyday. Plus don't forget - he comes with five "Legend" sized figures already, in his cassettes!
I totally get why you guys are in love with that figure and the cassettes. Heck, if they sold the cassettes individually at ten bucks a pop, I might have bought them each over a couple of months. And even if I took that into account AND used a coupon, Soundwave himself would still be a $50 figure...and one that took up a lot of space. No, I'm just not a Masterpiece kind of guy. I can appreciate the beauty of the art without having to own it in my own house. But I certainly don't fault anyone else for having one. If I had the space, and an extra sixty bucks lying around, I'd go for it.
Absolutely not! I just wanted to chime in that I saw the figure in the store. I know a lot of people have been stressing about it. And I wanted to capture the anecdote about encountering an expensive, desirable toy, but passing on it. With all of the hype surrounding this thing, I was pretty excited to actually encounter one. I similar thing happened to me on Sunday when I found all the Wreckers in a Walmart. You guys are the only people I can swap these stories with.
He was joking about the trolling. ' Since anyone in their right mind would have gotten it, and not the Legends toys!! (except for me, I want a few Legends to go with Metroplex, but no stores around me have them. Where can I get them?!)
Just got mine today! In fact I just finished transforming him into player mode. Also Hasbro's instructions omitt that you can put three of his tapes in there and feed them back out with the button on the back. It leaves out a lot of what you can do with this figure and all the stuff he comes with. If I hadnt followed the japanese release I wouldnt have know it.
Hahaha ahhh you made my depressing day a happy one with the laugh you gave me I have a question guys! I'm away from home, but near my art supplies, I wanna draw a chest diagram for sw. Since he isn't near me, what are the dimensions???? I'd greatly appreciate it
