    If memory serves, I think it was in fact called a mortar canon? I think the G1 box and packaging mentions something like that.

    If I remember correctly, he uses it as a weapon in his boss fight in WFC.

    Upon further thought, I think Buzzsaw's weapons were called "twin mortar cannons." I forget exactly what Soundwave's weapons were called, but they were cool!

    Yeah, there's no mention of it in his Marvel Universe profile either.

    Some "bios" on other sites of the characters refer to it as a "radio-wave sensor", but I can't find any canon reference to that description.
