Probably more of a vanity thing. Knockout just didn't want to get Energon all over himself.

Not going to lie, that video probably set the mood for my entire day. When things go wrong at work, I'll think of this and smile like a mad beast.

    Nice video!

I'm hoping he got stuck on Earth working with Ratchet. It be kinda weird if it was just Ratchet on Earth.

I think he's on Cybertron with the others. I don't think they'd want a former Con running around on earth unsupervised and I can't see Ratchet keeping up with him to be that supervisor.

I have wonder if he'll 'stand trial' for his warcrimes in the movie. Make it a small scene where Knock Out has to defend himself, or maybe one of the Autobots feel the need to defend him, or at least offer him a chance for redemption. While he's not necessarily trust worthy, his knowledge of Decepticon tech and the warship, and his medical skills (if he can fight the impulse of picking them apart) could be useful to them.

I kind of think that's the reason why Ratchet is staying on Earth, out-of-character wise. To give the writers the chance to work Knock Out in on Cybertron, because Ratchet's in-character reason, in my opinion, is a little weak.

I agree, I felt like the reason they had Ratchet stay behind was so they could tag-team Knock Out into Team Autobot. "Oh, you need a medic? Here is a medic!"

Which is fine by me. :D

I think Optimus will accept Knock Out into the ranks without too much fuss (although I'm sure there will be trust issues / transitioning issues, and I look forward to them oh-so-much). I mean, he asked Dreadwing to become an Autobot and Dreadwing regularly tried to slap explosives all over Autobots.

Haha, true that. I'd like to see Knock Out bring that up, too. Maybe call the Autobots out on their hypocrisy and try to use it against them if they try to refuse him. Not that he deserves to be welcomed into the Autobot ranks without some tension or suspicion, but really, can the Autobots afford to not use all the help they can get?

Who knows, maybe Knock Out can change for the better and just needs a chance? At least they know he'll just abandon them instead of stabbing them in the back, so that's something, right? XD

I still can't get over that. Megatron calls for the Decepticons to make their last stand, and what does Knock Out do? "Nope, forget that! I want to LIVE!"

If there isn't any hostility with Knockout trying to become a part of Team Prime I call bad writing. Unless, of course, the movie is based years down the road and they have already gone through the motions with him. Besides, he's too useful. Even if the movie starts with him being locked up I bet he'll be let out because he is needed for something.

Yeah, it's too early to say right now. We have no idea how much time will pass between the episode "Deadlock" and the events in the movie. The episode ends with the assumption that they're going straight back to Cybertron and get the whole rebuilding process done, but I can see them taking the route that time has passed.

Honestly, I'd be more disappointed if they don't show some tension or initial hostility. It's an interesting development and to write it off with a simple 'months later, they have come to trust their little Autoboticon' explanation would be really disappointing.

I mean, it's already bad enough that plot arc will likely be rushed to make room for the rest of the movie (which makes me sad that season 3 was the end), but to just bypass it completely would be really disappointing. I don't want it to be the main focus of the movie, but it needs time to develop.

I think they'll get make room for a little Knockout fun in the movie. After all, he's so loved and popular. Not giving him some time for fans to enjoy would make the movie less enjoyable. I'm hoping for an act of selflessness to redeem him. There's a big fight and he has the chance to flee, but instead of running he comes to the rescue! That would be a true act of redemption for me. And whoever he saves has to be either Arcee, Wheeljack, Ratchet (if he's in the movie), or Ultra Magnus. Those 4 would seem the most hesitant to have him on their side.

I look forward to the tension with glee. I also wonder . . . will he change his optics to blue or stick with the red? Either would look good. However, as far as I can tell the "plate" of his eye is in fact red glass/plastic (you can tell when he's in scenes in bright sunlight), so he would have to replace the entire surface of his optics.

I would like to take a moment to plug my Knock Out and Bumblebee best-frenemies fanfic, Life in Glass Houses, at this point. :D  (Also on the fanfic board here and on AO3.)

if he changes his eye color I bet he'll go yellow.

After all, only yellow or red matches his paintjob

Hm, I don't think he'd be willing to change his optic colors to blue, but maybe something that would match his finish? If he's willing to change anything about himself at all...

It's not like he wore his Decepticon insignia out in the open... not sure he'd be inclined to do the same for the Autobot insignia either. He could make it a point not to wear it, or change anything?
