Anyone else notice they actually have the potential to lead towards it? Decepticons seemingly gone, only Predacons remain... I see future potential  

 

I suppose. Doesn't feel the same since these Predacons are evidently a different "species" than the modern Cybertronians; they're not really Decepticon successors.

Would be nice to see some form of Maximal in fiction again. The Preds show up time and time again (Sk-Byte's gang, Waspinator, these dragons) but the Maxis kinda died out.

 

Maybe if they start off as the techno-organic variety (maybe a group of Predacons who defect), and not as robots that disguise themselves as out-of-scale animals.

 

Maybe Maximals could be local inhabitants that some Autobot survivor group discovered on some other planet and the two groups formed an alliance. So with Cybertron restored and the Autobots returned home, perhaps some Maximals could come with them.

Good little cover story for adding them.

 

Predaking is going to kill all Autobots and Decepticons and the next show will be about Predacons only.

 

I proposed this very idea in this very forum about 2 years ago, people laughed.
But I kept believing, it is looking much and much more like a possibility.

 

It will be interesting what direction Prime/Aligned takes. It's funny that even the Predacons are not the main bad guys in the movie. I'll wait and see but it's this post return to cybertron stage, new ground in the next new media(game,show,book, comic), which is going to be a nervous wait for me. Admittedly i could be turned off. The Addition of lot's of different groups be they Maximals, Quintessons or whatever is going to dilute. I don't see Hasbro making the same mistakes as G1 but who knows...

 

No doubt we will see lot's of different stuff but as long as they keep the main show Cybertronian centered, i don't mind if they create ground for spin offs...

 

I've noticed that Hasbro has been introducing more and more Beast Formers to the market in different forms. We first got the Predacons in Prime, both show and toyline, next we're getting appearances of Rattrap and Waspinator in the IDW comics and then next year we're getting Rhinox as a voyager and Waspinator as a deluxe toy. Also related, we got Sky-Byte in the IDW comics too and the Dinobots have been getting a lot of love these last two years in video games, comics and toys.

 

I hope so. Beast Wars was so good...I'd love a new take on the series.

The toys were the best too...sturdy, posable, quality, not hyper-stylized and all pretty easy to transform while still looking great.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Beast Wars that took place on present day Earth though. Along with the usual Transformers-type plots, the occasional "unknown cryptid animal terrorizing small town" episode would be fun.

 

I don't know man. I will be happy with a new spin and new characters sort of what transtech was supposed to be. Because if they redo beast wars how much will they take from the original cartoon.

 

that's because the predacons go all the way back to G1 where they were a combiner team.

 

I'm pretty sure the name Maximal is supposed to refer to post-Great Upgrade Transformers. Using it outside that context (such as for a faction name) has a lot of implied arrogance.

 

And one time he name Bulkhead once belonged to an helicopter transformer too.

They don't always have to do what was done before.

 

I'm not saying they do.
I'm saying that Maximal basically means superior. Which makes certain implications about what a faction calling themselves that would be like.

 

"Maximal" implies their technological superiority over the outdated Autobots, yes. They're new, more efficient models.

Though an interesting parallel that adds a new dynamic to Megatron's disgusted way of saying "Maximal" could be made if Predacons saw it as a dominance term.

 

Instead of being from the future, they could just be portray as elite warriors from another planet.

 

Have to admit Beastwars was when i fell away from Transformers due to work and shedualing but in love to see some of the characters back.

 

Meh.

I loved watching Beast Wars. And don't get me wrong it was an awesome series!

But I've never been too fond of having Transformers as animals.

I've always preferred them having vehicle modes.

 

I think it's possible that we could get a faction similer to the Maximals sometime in the Prime verse since the Prime Predacons are somewhat have a similer thing going on with the BW Preds.
