NICE! I want one

 

Everything on mine is fine besides laserbeak. Mine has so much silver paint on it that it was glued shut and then I tried to pry parts open the thruster wing broke off.

 

Im very impressed with this fig. Its pretty sick. My only complaint is that lazerbeak and buzzsaws feet are really loose on mine.

 

Mine arrived yesterday. Everything is O.K, though I am disappointed in what seems to be the condition of all the molds at this early state. Seriously, there seems to be excessive mold degradation everywhere. TRU MP Prime is in MUCH better shape that way so this is just silly here.

So overall condition:

- paint has some issues - but most are fixable.
- Hip joints were so crazy tight that I had to take apart both thighs and shave down the ratchet. The spring used is just way too strong. I swear I was going to break the hips if I didn't fix this. Now they are still tight but I don't worry as much about breaking the toy.
- Cassettes are generally fine. Ravage had a foot assembled backwards but at least it was the right part. Another has a serious stress mark but since the joint isn't work that way it should be ok.
- Going to whip out the silver paint pen and touch up the silver where necessary - and it is necessary in many spots.
- Wayyyy too many features aren't called out on the official instructions. Kinda silly really.
- Had to clean up wayyy to many mold lines with the ex-acto.
- Diecast on the feet. Sweet.
- Index fingers are fine on mine.
- Cassette eject gimmick doesn't seem to be working that great. Is this normal?

Summary:
Killer mold but TakTom needs to spend more on making these MPs have longer lasting molds because this is ridiculous.

Edit: How far are the cameras on the birds supposed to open?

 

Same thing happened to mine. Laserbeak's fin broke off really easily, and I still can't get the joint to rotate all the way up. Hoping I can get a replacement Laserbeak off someone.

One of the decepticon symbols on my Buzzsaw is a bit smushed but I think Slim's issue was the double coloring of the center tampo.

That's actually cool looking. not to mention it might even add a bit on the price if you decide you want to sell him.  

 

The eject gimmick barely works on mine for some reason. I have to gently let down the chest or else the tapes don't catch or get stuck. Disappointing but it still works with diligence. I also share the same sort of spotty paint work.

It also has the recent MP prime index fingers that shoot off into the sunset when you look at them wrong.

The tape camera's open from the front, so try to push down from the back of the head where the gap is. That should be were the pin is located.

I would also agree that the instructions don't go over nearly any of the nice little features.

 

Found MP Soundwave at TRU today. Overall very good quality but his feet and thigh joints are scary tight... And I haven't even transformed him yet. Buzzsaw is loose is all the right places but Laserbeak is comparably tight to Takara Buzzsaw, but with even stiffer fins. There are streaks of silver paint all over the top of Frenzy's head. Anybody have ideas of how to get that off without having to repaint?

 

Alcohol. As long as its sliver paint on black plastic.

 

I believe Frenzy's head is black plastic. So would rubbing alcohol on a q-tip work?

 

Yup, that's exactly how I'd do it (and am going to do it to the underside of buzzsaw.)

Q-tip doused in rubbing alcohol didn't work. Nor did lightly picking afterwards with a toothpick. Any other ideas? Not that big of a deal but my Takara version's chrome is in bad shape, so it would be nice to have one perfect one. Other than the fact that he gets stuck in Soundwave's chest in tape mode. For some reason I haven't deduced he doesn't fold up as nicely as the other cassettes or his Takara counterpart. Probably some flash somewhere I would guess.

 

Opned mine and Transformed all the tapes to bots. Only issue I've found with them is Buzzsaw's left leg loose at the rotating hinge. Also I pulled Rumble's torso up too much wanting it to go wider and separated the top and bottom at the waist. Man that was a pain to pry back together. All the other tapes seem fine. Soundwave has been transformed to Tape deck once. The butt of Soundwave's gun keeps falling off. Only other issue so far with him is the index finger that shot off, and I gasped as I watched it fall in slow-motion to make sure I could see where it landed.

 

Did you let it sort of soak?
