What's the point of having an unpopular opinion thread if your still gonna criticize the opinions?

    None.
So cut the bigotry, or just leave.

Anyways, my least popular opinion: that I found transformers prime disappointing because of how much potential was wasted.

But just because I disappointed in things like OP being kinda flat and the human characters not used to their fullest, doesn't mean I hate it, just makes it harder to watch when I think of the cool things it could've done but chose not to.

(Biggest example would be not doing more with Silas and mech. I had hoped they might have done more with silas/breakdown and maybe even introduced a third conflicting faction of human-transformer hybrids fighting for control of the earth. Kinda like the head masters thing in the IDW comics just cooler and less awkward.)

I really don't mind it, and again, the paint job really goes a long way to improving the look of the car brothers. It's like that thread comparing G1 figures, Alternators, and Classics. The Classics generally have the best proportion, but just look less classy and quality due to the lack of a good finish like the G1 figures and Alts/Binaltechs have.

Plus, the articulation. Sideburn may wear his car mode on his back and arms, but he can pull off so many poses.

I had it in hand, and I can Definitely say the RID Deluxe Airachnid isn't bad. Yeah, she's no Vehicon, but she isn't that bad. She has a coherent shape and proportions, and the design of The figure isn't bad. Yeah, her articulation isn't too hot and her hands are stupid, but I say she's decent. Maybe I just heard too much hate for it and set my expectations way too low.

I like her better than Bumblebee or Cliffjumper, that's for sure.

Except that's not an opinion, that's a theory, or even a philosophy, which by definition means that it's never actually true, So much as not false.

    Here's one:

I generally dislike Optimus Prime*. Optimus is a less interesting version of Superman. He's essentially bordering on Mary Sue territory at this point. We get it, he's more or less perfect. If he has a flaw, it's that he's too nice or forgiving. I understand why people still love him. I thought he was great as a kid. Then I grew up and came back to the G1 series.

If you pause to think about it, G1 Optimus (Comic and Cartoon) is more or less responsible for countless human and Autobot deaths, thanks to the fact that he kept letting Megatron get away/wouldn't kill him when he got the chance. I think the most obvious example is when he has himself blown up for cheating in a computer game, but it's still present in various forms in most series. I understand the 80's show was cheap and you never got real character development, but even the newer versions aren't much better. Yes, it's a children show, and so we don't want dark and edgy, but some common sense would help. I could believe he has so little personality that one could fit it onto a floppy disk. :D

Add to this that his redesigns show even less alterations than Koei does for their Dynasty Warrior sequels, and he's one of the most boring protagonists I've ever seen. They have redesigned Megatron several times, why can't they change it up a bit with Optimus?

I wish we'd have more multiple leaders, or just not make him the grand leader so often. Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, Alpha Trion, there's other options. Sure, G1 Rodimus wasn't a great leader (again, in large due to the episodic nature of the show), but if Optimus had been in charge at the end of the movie, he'd probably agree to give half the planet back to the Decepticons to make it fair. Your main hero shouldn't come off as Too Stupid/Naive to Live, people.

tl;dr version: Optimus Prime is the Ned Stark of Transformers.

*Not all versions have been like this, there are a few exceptions.

Though we should stop berating people for thinking differently.

Transformers energon should've been animated in all CEL instead of the Hand-drawn/cgi hybrid it really had. Same for transformers cybertron.

Megs in Armada looks like a bastard son of a Mauler and a Atlas AS7-K with those shoulderpads and that Hip Cannon, and his Vehicle mods its basically a Baneblade with the Shadowsword chassis, and his Horns makes him look like a depressive Khornate Berzerker

Armada Megatron is a badass design....but I hate it as Megatron.

Give that bad boy a new badass name and create a new charater and I'm in. Hell when I first head of Heretech as a phase sixter I immediately picture a guy that looks like Armada Megs.

They're prettier on the new toy, but the older one's altmodes were more cohesive (and that's saying something).

I'd honestly like a Metroplex with a different (and sleeker) battlestation mode. Give him a transformation a bit like Ginrai, but with leg or underchest panels folding out to enclose the entire hip structure. Pop out a bunch of weapons and sensor arrays, replace the wheels with tracks, and there's your mobile fortress. Maybe do something better with the head transformation, too - it's way too prominent on the altmodes on both versions of the toy.
