Actually, no they don't; look closer.

It is more noticeable if you flick back and forth between the renders; you will see that Terminus Hexatron's guns are different to the Grandus and Shadow guns (both of which appear chunkier).

I agree that it does seem rather pointless to remold the guns, though; Terminus Hexatron's guns seem fine.

 

It is really fun to transform this guy back and forth and you always can find the considerations and creativity that the designer put in this product.
This is the new mode that I found today - Wolf Thundertank, it has 2 configs, speed mode and attack mode.

 

  That is so awesome!

The great thing is not just these (and other) fanmodes that we've seen, but the potential for variations to them as well.

I particularly love how the arms and legs line up in that second pic - I could easily see it modified into some other kind of land, sea, or air vehicle mode as well (great stuff, courtdevil).

*Sigh* man, I can't wait to get this guy...

 

Oh shoot, you're right. Whoops, my bad, man. It's so pointlessly different, it almost looks like that part could have been accidentally doubled in the render.

I also just noticed that Hex render has a serrated edge on his sword, yet the final version has the sword identical to the one in the Grandus and Shadow renders. Glad they went with the smooth edge, a serrated sword would actually be less effective in real life.

 

Man now I feel like a big jerk. PSX compensated my Hex being delayed and not having updated tracking info with $15 credits for their site.

Alright, so here's the word on the chrome weapons and helmet. The swords are just not going to happen. For one, they cannot fit into the sheaths at all when chromed. Additionally, adding them would double the cost of the set as they are part of a different tooling. So we'd be looking at what was discussed initially: $6-7 for a set of chromed guns and helmet.

 

No swords huh..... oh well. The stock swords do suffice anyway, and that new 3p company-clone power (not sure about the name) seems to be making a kit for Hexatron, and that might include weapons.

I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. I'll probably wait for the chrome gun set to be released before buying it just to see if its nice enough.

 

Nice, hope several sites offer them up. I'd happily buy a set.

They are not making any kits, they are going to KO Hexatron.

Interesting. I guess Hexatron's popularity is at the same level as official Has/Tak releases if this is true-he's barely even out and a ko of him is already being planned.

they dun need to spend time n effort to design/engineer him while jus reapin the profits off others who had spend time n effort

 

It still requires some effort-the ko company still needs to copy the Hexatron's parts piece by piece, unless they have the original molds, and I doubt MMC will let them use their molds to make a ko.

Although this still may be possible based on the fiasco MMC had with vs their previous factory. Maybe the factory sold the early Hex molds to the ko producer to spite MMC as revenge.

I see a silver lining to this situation though: kitbashers will have a more affordable figure to salvage for kitbashing.

Just got my Hexatron. I am suitably impressed. My last purchase from MMC was Knight Morpher. The quality of hexatron is light years ahead of Knight Morpher.

Yes, if this is the quality, the Reformatted line is as good as bought.

Edit: Due to my ham fisted-ness, I broke his pinky.

Oh well, this gives him some battle scars, seeing he is a killing machine that been through the barrels and blade.
