Thank you. I just added the Batman Unlimited Dark Knight Returns Batman to my collection. My local Toys R Us busted out a case after at least two months of just having a Penguin warming the pegs.
So I got a better camera. Here's some better pics of the Nightwing vs Mattel Nightwing. While Mattel Nightwing has better articulation, I can not get over his face. AC Nightwing is just hotter in every way. What an amazing figure. That was my very first Arkham universe figure, and my God, I am now addicted. Speaking of wave 4 Batman... What a bunch of fantastic figures... I want MORE. I also saw the Mr. Freeze, bu $60 and my trip would have been over right there and then. Dunno why that figure costs $40 more than regular figs, only for the fancier box, but whatever, it must be mine. If anyone has a loose complete one, LMK asap, and we'll do business. With Mattel Robin, which isn't bad. With Batgirl 52. Does anybody want this leg?
Mattel Nightwing's head is definitely bad, but I'm not convinced the DCC one is much better. I was really excited for Series 4 Batman before he came out, but once I had him in hand I couldn't help but feel disappointed with him. His face is way too skinny and the way it tapers down from the cheekbones to the chin makes him look like he's emaciated. I was also disappointed with the new joints which didn't really enhance his articulation all that much. My next Mattel figure will either be New 52 Batgirl or First Appearance Batman.
It is a good sculpt in that it's accurate to the character model in the game, but I don't particularly care for that model since he looks to me like he spends more time gelling his hair just right for the teen pop idol look than patrolling the streets. I'm glad you like him though. Just not my cup o' coffee. Thanks for sharing the pics. Before this, I never noticed just how horrible Mattel Nightwing's head was. Money saved!
He kinda looks like that in the game...and in the comics...and in my dreams. AYYY wtf is wrong with me.
The rest of my weekend haul: I don't buy all the evergreen figures, but I buy the best, figures that seem to repeat certain motifs: See what I mean? Mask of Tengu anyone? Oh I shoulda taken pix with mutant batman too. Dang.
Well, I finally rebuilt the batcave, with all the upgrades available at the time: I had not yet included this in the complex. Chillin with the guys Batboat docked safely in between parts.
Nuts is when you turn on the blacklight...or when I find that EXPO The Batman Bacave miniplayset, or when Bruce goes batshit against Joker over at Vicki Vale's apartment. Never rub another man's rubharb!
I scored DCU Nightwing. I just hate the only figures I have left to get are the 50$+ ones. Batgirl(Cassandra) goes for a lot of cash. Just a couple more figures and my Batman collection will be done.
Spectra is there cause i'm a sucker for Glow in the dark toys.Its a very simple collection.These are the only ones i'm looking for until i'm done... Deathstroke,Batman beyond(with mask on),Batgirl(Cassandra),Knightshadow batman,Two-face(not sure on the 5pack or Superheroes version),Classic robin,2 pack robin(with green tights),Black mask,Ivy,Superheroes catwomen,Azreal(2pack with batgirl) and Red robin. I don't have much faith we will get a decent Killer croc.
Pretty much complete now. I will get the new DCC Grundy coming out. I added figure that were not made or just did not look good enough to buy like Talia, Red Hood, Huntress, and Black Mask. You need to get a Mad Hater and a Scarface.
I'm misssing a bunch myself. Clayface, Catwoman, Cassandra, Modern Riddler, TwoFace, pretty much most of DCU. They came out during a time when I lived in a small town, and my Walmart had a bat-embargo going on. Most of my Mattel figures are from 2005 and before. But I'm not concentrating on those. I mean, I guess I am now. I'm still missing 52 Bat. They were common, now I can't find them. I also recently saw Injustice Joker aka Coker, 'coz he looks ridiculous. But I'll probably buy it next time I see it. I ought to save $ for that batpod...
That's a fine looking setup you got going.I forgot about needing the Orcale and Huntress(don't want or need Canary) from the 3pack.Its a slow process filling in the blanks,but I enjoy each figure more.Killer Croc look good,He scales better than I thought.Is that the asylum version? I got in late too.My first batman and Joker were from Legacy.Then I seen the whole bane wave(and never picked up robin).Over half my collection I can thank a member here(don't remember who)for.I'm sure paying for getting in late though.Thats the good thing about having a set goal for my collection,there is an end to it.
Yes that is the Asylum Version Croc. I have Oracle but she is in my JLU Collection. Here is is Talia since its hard to see her in the Collection Pic.
Well, I separated the Batman stuff I wanted to sell and put it up in its own sales thread. I'm hoping to use funds from any sales toward some of my higher priority figures such as Mattel Legacy First Appearance Batman, and New 52 Batgirl. Feels kind of weird to part with these things considering how small my collection already was.
