I'm with you there. I dunno, I just seem to remember people complaining that the Hasbro Springer was too BRIGHT a shade of green and now it's complaining about the too dull green with Takara, lol. I like the green they used. I'm a little curious about the lighter gray shade they used but I over all like the Takara coloring. I like that the upper leg color matches the lower leg color quite a bit. The paints over all aren't too metallic like they have been doing as well. It's not bad. I may have to order one.

As for Blitzwing, he's also not bad. I like the gold for his helmet rather than yellow. I like that the cold face doesn't have a black nose on it since I always thought that was strange. The metallic purple doesn't thrill me but the off white doesn't kill it for me. Maybe if Takara molds the nose in a hard plastic for the jet mode and improves the shoulder pins a bit it will be worth getting the Takara version. We'll see.

Yeah, the clips at the back holding the gun together get wedged under the yellow outer chest pieces. The mounting clip on the Hasbro version gets in the way of that a bit, so it wouldn't surprise me if they removed that. It's not intended, and it's hard to say how stable it would be without the clip, but it's pretty loose with it.

I might have known that Takara would make Blitzwing's purple with metallic paint applications and that it might look a bit disco for a tank, but sometimes these things work. What struck me first was how pale the tan parts are, though I'm getting used to it just as I look through the photos. Maybe that's just me and my near default preference for Takara's versions in these related lines. My other first impression here is that the head with the traditional face doesn't look quite so disproportionately large.

As for Springer, ok, kudos for thinking of trying something different. In execution this is - as many others have pointed out - either nowhere near as accurate or harmonious as the colours on Hasbro's counterpart. This reminds me of the differences between the Universe and Henkei versions of Cyclonus. Still, the painted details here such as the sword are cool.

Something else that this Springer deco reminds me of -and this can be filed under Hope Against Hope - is the positive reception towards the eHobby (battle damaged) version of Deluxe Kup after the two standard releases didn't seem to do much for some fans. I wonder if Takara might cooperate to release a battle damaged/movie accurate deco of Springer.

The metallic purple on Blitz looks nice but the tan parts aren't...tan. As for Springer, I am just not into that canned green bean shade at all.

Unless the Takara corrects Blitzwing's shoulder problems, I will be more than happy to stick with my Hasbro versions of both.

Springer's colours look more like Defender's colours, which is more like the cartoon colours.

I don't honestly like Springer's colours. They're a bit too busy and grayscale for me. Blitzwing looks okay, but again a bit busy and disco. I'll keep my Hasbro versions, thanks.

I really like Blitzwing. He somehow looks meaner. Springer looks awesome too but something about that green I don't like.

I want them both but will wait if they improve the pegs like they did with sandstorm, especially with blitzwing!

Um, i really don't know if this the only case with my springer but somehow the legs wont peg securely to form the rear wheels in vehicle mode. you know the one you need to fold? unlike my sandstorm which is better in that part. So im hopping the takara springer will have improvements in that part, as also for blitzwing with its shoulder issue.

You need to be careful about folding the back flap on the roof down, or it'll push on the legs and make the back hard to pin in. Don't have Sandstorm yet, so I don't know if that's different on him that's making it easier.

Well, these are just OK. I mean a couple color changes here and there doesnt justify the hefty price tag that Takara wants so thats my opinion and one thing Takara shouldnt have done and thats keeping the stupid ass rotating head that Blitzwing has! I cant stand that!!!!

Ah, I thought you were referring to info about the Takara release of Sandstorm that I'd missed. Sorry

Blitzwing looks by far superior to Hasbro's version, but Springer is just meh... Not sure why they went with such a drab shade of green. I also prefer the darker grey of Hasbro's version.

I'm disappointed in Springer, well the shade of green used, should a been a bit brighter or metallic. I do like the shade of grey.
I'll wait to see side by side pics before final judgement.

BTW I dont think this Dark Green is what the actual toy will look like in hand.

The Tokyo toy show had both of these figures in the same color scheme as pictured but in reality the green looks a lot nicer.

The tan or beige on Blitzwing also looks darker in hand.

Hasbro easily won this round. Takara's decos are awful. Screen accurate doesn't always equal better.
