I don't think they can go that route, since the barrel extender still has to fit. Either a plug in the barrel or orange paint will be the only option I see making any sense.

Requesting links to other stores that will be having this WITHOUT the orange tip.

I wonder if there will be any noticeable difference between this one and the original reissue run of him? I'm glad I didn't buy one, I almost got one off ebay to help complete my Takara Reissue line.

Bah, I'm already getting an unmodified MP Megs, so the reissue holds no interest for me. In other good news though, BBTS let me know my 6 in Titanium Rodimus has arrived, now if only my Paypal account had money in it.:redface2:

If Takara were making these like that I would be disapointed but purchase anyhow. However since someone will be taking my sealed toy opening, fiddling with then repackaging I don't think so. Sorry BBTS I'll have to go else where for these. I don't fancy paying sealed prices for something that has been opened and messed with. I however do respect thier decision to do this in order to protect themselvs.

while it really sucks, let's not forget... we live in a world where the strange can happen... like getting shot dead by a cop who mistook your stolen sixxasis controller for a gun...

If that can happen I doubt an orange tip is going to stop a cop from shooting you.

You'll have to import it from Japan, too.

I'm passing. The orange cap doesn't bother me (although I am puzzled why they have to do it now, but didn't when he was first reissued), but I'm not going to pay $15 less than the Masterpiece version for a toy that is of vastly inferior quality.

Damn.. I had the original release of the Reissue and wanted to replace it.. now I have to find someone who is selling a new reissue without it...

It's not just the annoying orange cap thingy.. it's that there would be someone else opening my toy.. as paranoid as it sounds.

We're going to open the toys, ruin them with a plastic tip, and still charge more than unaltered ebay prices! hilarious!

All this discussion over vandalized Megatron, and I was more interested in that Classics Ultra Wave. (Voyager? What's that? :p  ) They've stopped shipping Megs, but Prime is the shelf warmer, from what I've seen.

Whew! good thing I got mine the first time they reissued it and its not altered. Good thing as well that Japan, Singapore and Hongkong sellers ships it unaltered as well, thats what I just observed. MOst of the stuff that gets imported to PHilippines comes unaltered too from this seller - www.greattoys.net.ph, though in limited quantities coz I think his supply comes from the 3 other countries mentioned earlier. I wonder if MP- Megs will get here unaltered Down Under though. MP reissue Prime here though is a shelf warmer ( the Hasbro shortstacked ones) coz everyones rushing for the classics especially the easily extinct Grimlock.

Maybe it's annother HK only re-release.

My guess would be it depends where Canadian import stores get their stock from,
i don't think the orange cap rule applies in Canada(?)

Yes. Because it can still become a toy gun that can pass for a real one , even from a farily small distance.

Did they go through and deface the G1 Reissue of Megs when he was released? I don't recall this so why the fuss now? Esspecially when he comes in robot mode?

Will this ridiculous orange cap prevent the silencer from attaching, or the pellets from firing? Waitaminit, the pellets are too small for US toy law. Choking hazard OH NOES! Better take apart all those Megatrons and rip out the firing mechanisms!

Nope. BBTS didn't carry Reissue Megs (except through their vintage section, ie, people who had already imported it to the US and then sold it to BBTS).

Hmmmm... I love ol' trigger crotch, and I haven't had one of my own since the 80's. Must buy now.

If the glue in on the inside of the barrel I have no problem with the orange cap and it's removal. Glue on the outside of the barrel...that's a different story. We'll see.

the strange thing is..this toy is for collectors. The orange cap makes sense for a young age group.
