Yes, Scourge had the neck gimmick. It was so he could have his head pop up in vehicle mode like he did in the G1 cartoon.

 

I'm going to go ahead and say it: this particular tooling deserves a Leozack redeco.

 

Wow, this figure looks amazing! That shade of purple really pops. I'm gonna need to play some Prince when I transform him.

 

Its fun to see how this mold works so much better as Ratbat than Scourge.   Fantastic colors as well!

I'm so out of the loop with the modern TF comics...I take it that this is IDW's version of Ratbat or is it TakaraTomy's ransom rendition of TF?

I must admit that the mold and the sculpt is very sweet and I would have dig it if this form was used in the original Marvel comics as Decepticon leader.

 

This Ratbat is influenced by how the character appeared pre-war in the IDWverse. The head sculpt is spot on to how he appeared in Megatron Origin, but the rest not so much. He didn't look like Scourge's brother. Even so, the lavish paint work really sells the intention.

 

I prefer having the legs reversed for the fan mode myself, makes em look more bat-foot like. ^_^

 

Looks like he turned out great, I'm also digging the fan modes.

 

That bat mode is awesome!

 

The colours cool great. Although I'd probably leave his wings open in bot mode for a wing cape.

 

God I wish this wasn't an import. Hard to justify at a $35+ price point.

 

Ah, thanks for the reply dude. It does look good but I'm passing him over as I'm not used to him having a humanoid bot form.

Actually I think the gloss purple is paint

 

Ratbat's head is totally awesome.

 

The bat mode has to be semi-intentional given how the wings open up and the tip of the wing makes the bend in the wings.

 

It's not, at least I don't believe so. It's a sparkly, somewhat-shiny plastic, as far as I can tell (same with Go! Gaidora's green plastic).

Though it's never impossible, I can't imagine this suffering from something similar to GPS.

 

this is the best figure of the year, I just got mine... I havent even transformed him yet...Takara knows what they're doing... I'm a believer now... maybe I'll get their version IDW megs.
