my two boys and I finally watched it. they have been waiting for Predaking to transform and the moment it happened... they were ecstatic!

some highlights for me:
1. the music and feel in the scene where Optimus Prime saw Ultra Magnus standing all alone is moving. he's all alone and don't know what is he doing wrong.
2. I loved the way Megatron roll his eyes at Starscream.
3. The Decepticon scheming all hush hush. man...
4. Starscream scrapping Shockwave? you betcha!
5. The three-way battle - best so far in the series.
6. Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack saying their goodbyes reminded me of that scene in 300. it sure is emotional as they both are ready to be one with the Matrix.
7. The 'Family' message - done superbly.

 

I certainly hope so. But if not what a way to get people's hopes up only to drop the bottom out of it- WHICH SUCKS!! Doesn't seem like something they would do though, because as fans themselves I'm sure they know fandom is going to go ape snot if we don't get at least a few more Predacons before this season is over.

Loved the three-way battle between Predaking, WJ, and U.M. I didn't really understand the look O.P. gave U.M. when he returned to base until I got that the through line for this episode was the concept of family- which that battle helped cement. O.P. looking over and seeing U.M. standing apart from the group probably sent up red flags for Optimus that something was amiss, and I'm glad they dealt with U.M.'s overt authoritarian attitude. All things considered this was a huge standout episode. And lastly, having Predaking now hating the Autobots because of what he perceives they did to his comrades, U.M., getting his hand smashed to pieces, and ultimately being left with the question mark of where things go from here all add up to a show well deserving of its many daytime Emmy's.

Looking forward to next week when SW is captured and supposedly the Autobots try to get him to talk. Me wonders... will they? And if so, what will he sound like? If he does talk whatever sound comes out better live up to all of the anticipation that's been built up over 3 seasons!

 

If we are to take the Beast Hunters prequel comic as canon there are three kinds of Predacons.

Original Predacons- Extinct

The Forged Predacons- Modern Transformers modified into Predacons hence able to transform. Experiments of Shockwave.

Predaclones- Cloned from Predacon fossils.

 

All this talk of family makes me curious how bots come into being???

 

Transformers come out of the Well of Allsparks according to Prime.

 

I believe that, in TFP, new sparks emerge from the Well of All Sparks and are either provided with or synthesize their bodies. However, the Well seems non-existent in Cybertron's dead state, so I don't think they'll have any reproduction anytime soon.

Except Vehicons of course, I don't even know where they come from.

Personally, this was the best episode I've seen so far.

I have to say, does anyone else think the trailer was totally misleading, when Megatron was talking about secrets when at the scene where he's actually talking to Starscream? Everyone assumed that it was Shockwave being spoken to, and that he was betraying Megatron when not revealing Predaking's ability to transform.

 

I thought Evolution was great!!! Absolutely loved the dazzling camera angles and work. Loved those upside down angles during the Predaking battle

 

No way. UM needs an Impactor-like harpoon blade, with retractable line! It'd be fitting for the new leader of the Wreckers in the TFP universe. Get on it, Ratchet!

 

Mmmm, lovely episode. Anyone else adore how Predaking picks up the giant rock dropped on him and using it as a battering ram? That was plain wonderful, as well as Screamer and KO exchanging their witty little glances at duping Shockwave/Predaking  

 

Oooooo, I didn't think of that. Harpoon arm is much cooler than whirl claw.

 

I watched it again, and I'm definitely getting the vibe that Predaking won't last long as a servant to the Decepticon cause. It's almost like he'd rather be a third party faction and not be involved in the war at all. Whatever they do, I'd rather they not kill off Predaking and the rest of the Predacons in the finale of the series. It would be nice to have something new in the Transformers universe.

 

The Predaking has the biggest and most powerful body, in the whole...Megatron could think about the Patch to obtain the body. Not something I'd like, but still.
