I like this version. Although I had wished they stuck more completely with the FoC aspect and the mini-figs that come with it were more amongst the WfC/FoC figs (besides Starscream that is).

 

Well, the decoys, while a cool throwback to G1, are disappointing. Also, Metroplex's thighs don't look that good chromed and his face, while G1 accurate, looks too "chromey" IMO. Looks like I'll just give the retail version the silver sharpie treatment for his unpainted face and save myself so money and stress.

 

Jimenez artwork is so delicious on that box! That is definitely going to help sell this guy.Shoot,I want one after seeing those pics.

 

I think the Hasbro version is too plain. Looks like a prototype that wasn't painted/finished. This one looks great with the chrome to break up all that plain white plastic. I'm definitely getting this one.

 

nice decoys , sticking with the less expensive retail Metroplex though.

 

I'll give HTS a shot when the time comes. Though if the site stock is cleared out in four minutes I'll just go retail. )

Locing the extra gun, not so keepn on the chrome looks weird. I dunno, maybe I'll jsut buy the Hasbro version and get the extra gun on ebay is some wants so cell it.

It's going to really depend on price with Metroplex. He is pure white, and I don't think I have a place where sunlight won't hit him. I want it, but I just don't know if I can get it. Vinyl figures? Eh. Shockwave? I'll be fine with getting the retail version.

 

i love the artwork on the box.Its freaking awesome.With the chrome and mini figs and the box art and extra gun.I am getting it and display that box with joy.And getting the regular version through bbts for open display.

 

So no news about any upcoming Masterpiece figures? I know they showed what was expected for Soundwave and Acidstorm but I was hoping they would announce that they were planning on doing all the new Lambos and Prowl ect.... Still hope for SDCC I guess, maybe they are saving it for their. Man I hope they release them here..

The LA Times article that originally confirmed Metroplex as an exclusive in the first place from a few days ago. I imagine the little placard in front of the SDCC Metroplex on display also stated this but I haven't taken a close enough look at the pics to confirm.

I like the figure - especially the chrome but I'm afraid I have to give it a pass. The humidity and climate will give me enough of a heartache with yellowing...LOL!
