Well, it's finally happened. They managed to make a version of that toy that's ugly as sin. :\

    Now that is awesome. ;)

Just FYI, Vangelus posted about an arm assembly problem with Hoist HERE in four of the Hoist figures he came across.

I have the same problem with mine and it appears to show the same issue in the original sample pics posted by FunPub on the BotCon website. Doh..! The Transformers Collectors' Convention - BotCon 2013 in San Diego!

funpub, you REALLY dropped the ball, out of any of the machine wars characters, starscream was the most recognizable and iconic (if you even call it that) and this is a complete screw up

and again, if you must do prime dreadwing as a mold, it would of been the perfect starscream, seeing as well, the design is based on g1 skyquake, who's original toy was used to make the original toy of machine wars starscream.

i won't lie, the color looks great on the mold, BUT its not machine wars starscream

Yeah, Starscream should definitely NOT have been the attendee exclusive. He's the only one I want. =(

I'm really surprised this one rumour turned out to be true, because that toy as MW Starscream seems to miss the entire point of the one thing that was notable about MW Starscream - he was huge. So now this is just an odd dinky little thing in his colours that essentially evokes nothing about him - it's like they looked at the heads, said "Hey, they're not a bad match!" and to hell with the rest of it.

BUT all that said? He DOES look very, very slick. The colours look great on the toy. Love the searing green trident.

Seeing as how (G1) Starscream is often depicted as slimmer and sneakier, I wouldn't be surprised if this mold was picked to connect his Machine Wars form more with his old G1 form.

Then again, looking at the heads and going 'hey good match!' wouldn't surprise me either :lol

oh don't get me wrong, the colors look fantastic on this mold. but it just isn't machine wars starscream, if you told me this was someone else i'd support it, but it just does not evoke machine wars starscream

Well, it seems like some people really like him in this mold but most are kinda "meh"... Last years Bard of Darkmount is selling for $50 now and Animated's Fistitron goes for $40-$50, so I'll hold out for a deal.

For me, I just really love the mold but want it in somewhat realistic colors. So far we've gotten orange, clear blue, and soon to be rainbow clusterf*ck... I just want it in grey/black/dark green... anything low key

The terradive mold is kind of a skinny-boy, so I postulate it is actually Machine Wars PRIME Starscream :)

Too bad the Prime Dreadwing mold was supposedly such a last-minute opportunity. If I were to armchair quarterback it, I'd let some other go without a new head so Megaplex could have one, and also use the mold for Starscream with the original Shredder-helmeted head.

Looking at it objectively, it's a really cool repaint and maybe even the best looking version of that mold.

But looking at it as an update of MW Starscream...It completely and utterly fails. This really should have been the mold used for Megaplex, especially with the trident capable of being mounted on the arm like a cannon and the wing panels on the legs simulating the look of G1 Megatron's legs.

I dig the Starscream - it's my favorite figure of this year's set.

That really looks great. And the head sculpt is already similar to that of the original Machine Wars Starscream. And that deco looks quite faithful, too.

Starscream looks mighty fine. You'd be hard-pressed to screw up the Terradive mold with a black deco.

    ^ Agreed.

In a sort of pure aesthetic sense I really admire the set of Decepticon jets this year.

    Don't need 'em though. :)

Yeah; it's a good deco on a good mold, and I STRONGLY suspect that they made the choice they did because of the head.

After all, with the current mold selection, Megaplex KINDA works if you stretch it and Starscream works well, headwise..... flip them and suddenly both NEED new heads. And that's an important consideration for the club.

So... Before they used Dreadwing, what mold was Megaplex going to use originally? Someone at Botcon will need to ask.. Probably the club round table.

Starscream looks great in jet mode, but in robot mode he somehow manages to look like a Star Wars Crossover figure. :inquisiti
