Wait for one of those TRU BOGO 50% off sales. That sale provides a good savings on the larger sets, but the 20% TRU markup makes it worthless for the medium-smaller stuff.
It's the first version. You get my PM about the FP Stunticons? BTW, for those interested in Galaxy Squad, Deefuzz said his LEGO store got the Galactic Titan in.
Batman: The Deathstar looks soooo amazing...if my house isn't running out of space, I would have picked it up!
Hey guys, has anybody broke down and picked up the Tower of Orthanc yet? I intend to stop by the Lego store and pick up either that or Arkham Asylum, since I have a 10% off coupon from the Club mag and extra Vip points to use. That hefty price tag for the Tower has me seriously concerned though, so just looking for a opinion from you guys here on the board before I drop the money on it.
I purchased it, but haven't built it yet. However, I did see it displayed at the LEGO store and it dwarfed Arkham Asylum.
I haven't bought it yet, but I plan to. It's expensive, but from what I can see, worth the price. $0.85 per piece, nice minifigs, and it's iconic and nicely detailed.
I'd sell something to make space and get one, before they retire it. Yes it is. I was skeptical about it for years. There were many times I had considered it since 2008 but for one reason or another I ultimately passed until recently. It is a great Star Wars set, fun Lego build and one of the most impressive playsets I have ever seen. You can almost reenact every scene on the Death Star from the movies. The only room I think it could have used over maybe one of the lesser ones is Darth Vader's chamber. My only complaint about it is that some of the minifigures are a little outdated, especially the Luke's and Leia. the weird thing is they revised the set a little and gave Han Solo new heads but left Luke with the same god awful hairpiece and old head. I highly recommend it. If you only ever get one Star Wars set, this is the one to get. Hell it is now my favorite Lego set ever.
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but here's a page I saw of the Back to the Future Time Machine set: Brick News - Building the best LEGO News Site for UK Fans Brick by Brick July 18th can't come soon enough!
This might be a little off topic, but has anyone here bought ICHIBAN products? Just looking for some feedback on specific kits. Basically I want to get the Serentiy and Normandy and have a few questions for those that own them. For the Serenity, what are the main differences between v1 and v2? For the Normandy, is the Cerberus version identical to v1.5 (apart from the color)?
Wow... the minifgures look GREAT, but they absolutely FAILED with the DeLorean hood. I mean, I can understand a funky cab to house the minifigures, but now why they did a stair-step pattern there instead of use one of the many, many sloped LEGO elements. I'll probably get this regardless, most for the Minifigures, and maybe use the parts to upgrade my custom LEGO DeLorean.
