According to their facebook page, Planet X will offer 300 of their new Project Genesis head tank with faceplate at BotCon.





Twenty of these were distributed to winners of the Planet X Genesis Photo Campaign earlier this month, myself included.

 

I really don't understand 2 thinks about the design:

1. Why blue?? Everything else on him is orange. It doesnt fit.
2. Why change the shape of the head. It feels too big.

 

Autobot eyes are blue in most fiction, War for Cybertron included. Although the head crest would probably be better red, I'm sure it won't stand out of place too much.
2. This head and shape is more accurate to the ingame model. I guess you have to see it attached to the bot to see if it still fits or not, but I think it does.:

3. It also helps set this one apart from the original, making it feel more special....

I don't have the figure, are there screws in place that would allow switching of parts? Maybe that's a possibility for you.

So yeah that's shitty. What about those of us that cant afford the Botcon trip? How many of those will be bought up and resold for an inflated price. You should only be allow to purchase it if you can prove u own a Genesis and that is it. Sorry just been waiting for this and not the news I wanted to hear, Planet X could at least let us know if there will be a more general release. That would calm me down.

Your statements seem to contradict each other. Those of us who "can't afford the BotCon trip" can buy one "bought up and resold for an inflated price" on the secondary market. Online retailers, auction sites, and forums like this allow us all access to exclusives that we might otherwise never even know about, much less have the chance to acquire ourselves. What's wrong with that?

 

Most of my post was just that initial "i want it mommy man child" in me that has been wanting this for my Genesis and was upset about not having any word about a general release. I appreciate ever resource we have as TF fans like these forums that many other toylines/hobbies do not have. Wasnt trying to offend anyone. I just vented my initial thoughts on it without thinking it through. I not usually one to act such a manner so my apologies.

 

If anyone is going and can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

 

I have a strong suspicion that retailers will be carrying this after Botcon. These Botcon ones are likely just the first bunch they've made. I would be VERY surprised if this is the only way to obtain it.
