Not much of a difference between Takara's Blitzwing/Springer to Hasbro's.

I believe the reason why we are not seeing a datsun logo on these guys is because datsun did not exsist in japan only nissan..just like today infiniti is a nissan,lexus is a toyota and acura is a honda just a thought they were datsun 240z and 280z here and the nissan fairlady z in japan..either way these look amazing!!!!

The Nissan S30 (sold in Japan as the Nissan Fairlady Z and in other markets as the Datsun 240Z, then later as the 260Z and 280Z) was the first generation of Z GT two-seat coupe, and later (beginning in the 1974 model year) also 2+2 hatchbacks produced by Nissan Motors, Ltd. of Japan from 1970 to 1978. It was designed by a team led by Mr. Yoshihiko Matsuo, the head of Nissan's Sports Car Styling Studio. HLS30 was the designation of the left-hand drive model and HS30 for the right-hand drive model.

so yes they are a japanese car maker but it was marketed as a datsun outside japan..the diaclone line had some cars based off of japanese models therefore bluestreak,prowl and smokes here are nissans.

 

Agreed. However, can I ask a dumb question? Why on the top of the box does it say 'Lambor' very clearly in the lettering? Hastily 'shopped and glued on front box graphic?

 

Let's also keep in mind brand recognition. Why would Nissan want Datsun on there at all at this point. That is a long dead company.

Not to mention, there were never any logos on the original G1 toy or animation model. So who cares if it is Datsun or Nissan. Sure it was Datsun in the states, but not in Japan. So Datsun makes very little sense from a geographic and business purpose.

That's the question I need to get answered. Prowl is coming very close to being the MP that drags me into MP collecting, but man the import price is a tough one to put in the budget.

QFT. The worry that these might be in short supply is the only thing making me more anxious than giddy that these are coming. I hope the rumors that the release dates were pushed back to up the production numbers are true. And, I hope the vendors, both domestic and overseas, have learned their lesson about overselling preorders (can't a guy dream?). Can't ever hurt to have orders from more than one vendor with liberal cancellation policies, just to be covered.

 

Yah man,hopefully will not be like Sideswipe,having QC problem for the paintjob.

 

Hopefully someone gets a review out soon, I'm really liking Prowl.
