Eh, a side by side comparison and I am second guessing myself, but I think I like Hasbro's more   There's also not a lot of differences.

 

Yeah there isn't much, but I must say, I really really like the way he has two guns on the Takara version! Really backs up his role as a one robot wrecking crew.

 

Now the question is stickers or paint apps?

I just remembered, is that shot of Hasbro's how he is straight out of the box, or is that him with his stickers applied?

If that's stickered, then I take back what I said.

Yeah, I've got it pre-ordered through HLJ as well.... which makes me nervous. I've had them not fill pre-orders before, annoyingly. Fingers crossed.

The lack of chrome is a bit disappointing. Also not sure I like those black outlines around the edges of his... pelvis plates, I guess you'd call them? It gives him almost a weird toon-shaded look, and is sort of cluttered. Still a nice-looking figure!

 

In the middle guy, what is it that is making the mid section look a lot bulkier?

 

It's a 4th Metroplex in the background   You're seeing parts of his arms/body.

 

Ahh u are right. Lame as that looks way better. It needs to look like that without the help of a second figure

 

The 4th figure wasn't meant to make it look bulky, it just came out that way. Anyway I'm sure some 3rd Party company is already figuring out ways to fix that.

 

I am pretty sure those are paint apps instead of stickers
they are on mostly uneven areas now I see why the price diff so much on this
guess I will be getting takara ones afterall

 

Feck it I was all set to resist buying this one and one look at a pic and I crumble and pre-order.

The missus is going to kill me....how the hell do I hide TWO of these beasts?

 

I'm guessing that things like the yellow hazard stripes and the cockpit window are still stickers, at the very least.

I'd be curious to see pics of the other modes. The new paint apps definitely help the robot mode, but I wonder how well they work in city mode.

 

I agreed regarding the black outline on the hip, that's the only downside. But the rest, that thing is a beauty! Damn you TTomy, here's I was hoping to get the Hasbro version but now I just couldn't resist your paint app. Love the grey app thigh to separate the white. The face looks more visible than Hasbro as well. Wow, that extra gun on both of his hand, makes him look bad a$$, thank you TTomy. Lastly, if TTomy final release looks like that without me applying additional stickers, I have no regret in getting the TTomy version.

 

I have to say, it's not really worth the extra money to export this. This is not that much of an upgrade over the Hasbro one.

I am thinking some reprolabels on the Hasbro one will be more then enough.

 

Nice, definitely glad I went with this version.
